sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Wait a moment... We were tied with KC in the standings, and we beat them. Could it be? Um, nah... Too early to watch the standings and get carried away by such things like "game up". Just be satisfied with a road win any way ya get it. And i'm sure Buxton is okay. He's tough.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 It might be time to give Rosario and Gonzalez a day off. Those two have been killing the Twins offense so far this season.especially that double Gonzalez hit in the first game
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I've been thinking Gonzalez is a bust.
Platoon Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Except that the call was that the ball landed foul well short of third. Shouldn’t the home plate ump have the call at that point?Honestly asking because I don’t know the answer.I didn't see the controversy. The home plate ump called it foul, correctly, before it crossed the bag. That should make the base umps call moot. I suppose they could have let the base umps call stand, reviewed it, and overturned it? Twenty minutes later.

I think he was screened, didn't see it well, and agreed to let the home plate ump change his call. But a ball that goes past the third base bag cannot be "correctly called foul" before it goes past the bag. It's not a foul ball yet. It could roll in foul territory all the way to the bag, veer inside the bag just as it gets there, and it's a fair ball.
ewen21 Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Count me as unimpressed with Buxton's effort on that Mondesi HR. He lost track of the ball and never had a shot but it didn't stop him from a comical crash into the wall.
