diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 OK, so I live in Cleveland again. I grew up there and moved away in 1996 thinking I'd never move back.. well, then my wife decided to take a job in Cleveland, and since my job is mobile... well, I'm back there again, and it is all the fault of a woman originally from Michigan... think about that for a second. Things to think about. 1. I hate Indians fans. They were non-existent in the 80s... and suddenly die hard fans in the 90s... Most don't know baseball either. So yeah, let's take it to them. 2. Michael Pineda. He had a pretty good spring, so no complaints there. Then again, against the Indians lineup, he might look like Cy Young. Heck, Odorizzi certainly did yesterday. I think that can continue. 3. Snow... Really... Snow... I woke up this morning to 3 inches of snow in my yard, and it's still snowing lightly. I'm not quite certain what to think about that, as it's apparently going to be warmer today in Minneapolis than it is in the land... 4. The Land... That's apparently what the locals call Cleveland now. Have fun with that. 5. Brackets... If only North Carolina had won... I would have had a chance to have picked the entire final four going into today. Kind of weird since I don't follow college basketball at all.. for that matter, I don't follow basketball b/c it sucks. Of course I had UNC picked to win the whole thing... so there's that. Lineups TBD.

MMMordabito Verified Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Continuing or improving upon the team 40.6% K-Rate would be cool!

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Speaking of brackets, mine is in the 88th percentile over at espn. I had Auburn beating North Carolina, and in my final game I have Virginia defeating Duke.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Three different catchers in three games. Interesting. Almost like there’s actually an honest completion. That’s good in my book, I never cared for the idea of handing the job over to Castro due to seniority or contract status.

Is there something new in baseball that I missed? Add 'C.J. Cron 1B' after Rosario for the Twins, and 'Jake Bauers LF' for Cleveland.

SwainZag Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 My alma mater and beloved Gonzaga Bulldogs are officially done for the season which means it's baseball time for this guy.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 This game could tell us a lot about the upcoming season. If Pineda does well I think it gives us some hope that he could make some significant contributions.

If I had gotten Auburn, I probably would have won the whole thing.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 CBU Update: 0-0, mid first What we learned from the 1-2-3 top of the first inning: - Pineda is big. Also healthy. At least for today.- Astudillo can steal strikes too- Rosario is in mid-season form (hot dogging an easy catch and then dropping the transfer to his throwing hand)
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I love Rosario, but I won’t deny that he plays with, let’s call it “flair”
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Cruz's check-swing strike was so bad, but then the double down the line was a beauty. Everybody seems to be aggressive on first pitch again.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Great heads-up play by Astudillo.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Comedy of errors - bad by infielder and worse by batter-runner - but no clowning around by Astudillo thank goodness.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 The memes will always be fun but that guy is heads up and can play
