Incredibly silly debate with my wife

Please help me settle an argument/debate with my wife regarding something in the Delta 360 club (formerly Legends Club).

Please see attached photo, taken at the 2015 Twinsfest in the Legends Club, (I believe near the entrance to the press box) There is a "7" etched into the wall.

My wife thinks that it is just a "7", for Mauer. She always thought this was the case, and thinks it was presumptive to have it there before he even retired.

I think that it is part of a larger number set, such as "573" since that area near there is dedicated to Killebrew.

I have no idea why she brought this up now, but now we both need to know who is right, simply for bragging rights.

Anyone been in the Legends Club recently and know? or will be there on opening day and can check, get a photo?

Thanks

She's wrong and so you're sleeping on the couch tonight for punishment as a result of this

I will when its Twins related, which happens a lot, my wife was wearing a Twins shirt when we met in college and she was at Game 7 of the '91 series (she likes to remind me of that...often). She's as big of a fan as I am. We get into superfluous Twins related debates often.

Thats exactly what I think, but she is "99% confident" its not that...

In my experience, whenever my wife says “I’m 99% sure”, it is, at best, a 50-50 proposition.

That said, I want to rec this forum for the title “incredibly silly debate with my wife.”

Now that you've been proven right, you'll be back. Then, you'll stumble your way to the sports bar... all bets are off from there. Moderation is light and so is the beer (not really the beer, Summit EPA is a favorite but we can debate if you're feeling foggy).

Looking at the picture of Harmon brought a couple thoughts. 1. He still has to be my favorite Twin. 2. I wonder how many HR's he would have hit had they worked harder on his launch angle? 3. I think it was Jim Buning who called Killbrew the "little fat kid"? While Willian Astudilo will never be a Harmon, it should be a reminder that not all athletes look 'athletic'! :).

It is long past the event, what could you possibly win by showing her she is wrong at this point? You did not know at the time. Accept it and move on, just like you hope and pray she does for everything she could bring up about you for the resy of your life.

The problem with this debate with your wife is that if you show her you are correct, you actually lose. I recommend that you concede the fact that she is correct and take her out to dinner and keep your correctness smugly in your own mind and never bring this up again. Then permanently delete all these responses. Good luck my brother. It is a long and perilous road we married men walk.

Its already too late to delete the responses, nor keep your correctness under wraps. Someday, decades in the future, this will be brought yet again to the forefront, prefixed by "and I remember when you................" This will likely occur during a totally unrelated 'discussion' and will set you back on your heels, as by then you will have absolutely no idea as to which she is referring. But trust me, she will! :(

I would have like this, but the individual is wearing a White Sox Jersey.

It's ok he's been properly reprimanded and sent to the corner.

Balderdash. Take your win and (gracefully) rub her nose in it.

you should tell her she is absolutely right about that and shame on the Twins for assuming Joe should already be in the Twins "Hall of Fame!" L.M.M.F.A.O

You guys dont know my wife, so all this "why bother?, itll only cause more problems. She'll bring up every little thing Ive been wrong about" is not only stereotypical and slightly sexist, but also wrong.

This is far from the first Twins/baseball related debate we've had, but really the first that we could find the answer online somewhere.

Again, thanks for the help
