  1. Did Joe Mauer have the sweetest swing of any catcher? If you could taste it, would you eat it? I know I would.

Now that is a very deep, philosophical question if I've ever heard one. I don't think I would eat it though... Probably.

  2. Is this still TD? Am I in the right place to talk about 2000's leaders that made up words and they irony about the critics of cancel culture were the ones that originally cancelled the Dixie Chicks? Since I rarely get to watch/follow baseball anymore, I can't get into the baseball discussions. This might be fun.
  3. Jorge Posada > Jorge Polanco Short goodbyes > long hugs Golden gophers > rally monkeys vasectomy > presidential debates
  4. Wow that is huge. Makes me reconsider working at a privately held company.
  5. It isn't going to pass until this virus is under control. Flights are being suspended and it is estimated 75k+ people are infected. China could be due for a rough 2020. A severe slowdown in China will have cumulative effects around the world. Markets are going to continue falling until we know this situation is contained.
  6. I think I am going to try Betterment. Looking for a safe but profitable option for some bonus money. Only .25% rates, not too bad.
  7. They were also beaten handily by Seattle at the end of the year. The roster is ok. Zimmer is ok. Unfortunately, ok doesn't win super bowls. If the oline is fixed in the off-season, I could easily see Cousins having a big year, and the team in the same position. I'm waiting for Zimmer to stop micro managing the offense. I'm waiting for him to stop punting so much (one thing I love about pj fleck), take some risks, use the analytical tools. Maybe next year will be the year? They certainly are better than the Bears and Lions, I think Rogers takes another step bank and they could win the North. Better than the niners/seahawks/eagles/cowboys? We'll see I guess.
  8. I'm fine with a full rebuild. I'm even fine with grabbing a high quality QB. My doubts aren't with this core, it is with the ability of Spellman to plug holes and Zimmer to beat good teams.
  9. I'm not sure I agree with anything you just did there lol.
  10. I don't want any part of Hurts. Who is the last Ohio State QB to have success in the NFL? Not that the past is everything, but that school wins because of the immense talent it has year in and year out. I thought all those guy were already cut.... I was about to be amazed.
  11. I think this is the peak as well. Cousins isn't the problem. He'd excel in the NO system like Breese has. If he has time, he can make amazing throws. He isn't slow either. A better coach might be Randall Cunningham. Get him to use his legs more, move more fluidly in the pocket. My problem, is the system is not taking advantage of the talent it has. Zimmer is forcing this archaic offense with no risk, and the offense is suffering because of it. Is rather give the keys to new management with the hope of a Packers esque rien around. If it doesn't work, let them tear it down and build it however they want. Nice thing with the NFL is teams can rebound quickly.
  12. I change my mind on Lawrence. I want no part in a guy that plays this bad when the spotlight is on. That said, the Vikes will move mountains to get him.
  13. It is a bar set by a playoff team, that won a playoff game on the road. Low? Yes. Absolutely. Still a realistic picture of the talent at WR in the NFL. Shoot, Treadwell was cut twice and had a significant role in the Vikes this year.
  14. After Diggs and Thielen, I'd take TJ over anyone on the WR corps. Would be great to have a big, physical, fast WR like DK Metcalf. TJ shredded the vaulted Auburn D, no reason he can't succeed in Sunday.
  15. That isn't really evidence. I know football can be crazy. At this point, are you betting against Tennessee next week? I wouldn't. That doesn't mean coming in as the 6 seed is the path to a title. I'm still asking why you would allow another year? How do Zimmer and Spellman perform knowing they are lame ducks? We have seen time and time again how that plays out. Childress was a lame duck, fired after a bad start. All the while, Spellman was in charge of drafting and the roster. We could be the lions or bears, and always suck. I don't think that is what our fans or ownership expects.
  16. Did you think Spellman and Zimmer can deliver a championship? If yes, is it the good record against losing teams? What other evidence do we have? If no, why keep them? I wasn't on board with parting ways last year, but changed my mind over the season.
  17. Great news Stefanski is gone. There were times I thought the scheme was great, but far too many questionable games. In the long run, I don't think it matters. Zimmer will try to control the mix and risk taking. Those gutless punts are far too common, and I have no doubt that mentality trickles into the rest of his game. He's Not a cold blooded leader, and the team follows suit. Maybe a new GM/coach can put together a competent off-season and compete next year. I'll be more optimistic with change. Hopefully Wilf has seen enough. If the Cowboys situation has shown anything, lame duck coaches don't win.
  18. Agreed. If it were me, what is the difference? Why waste another year on this disaster? Blow it up now, get in on a great QB class in 2021, and roll with a new regime. By the time Spellman fixes the o line, Cousins will be on crutches. You expect a new coach to take over after a disappointing 2020, go 5-11 in 2021, and maybe compete in 2022? I don't see it. The best chance this team has is to get a guy like Trevor Laurence. Cut or fire sale everyone outside of a few key pieces, and next year is whatever. It doesn't matter what they do this off-season, this roster will not be elite. There are elite guys, but too much money wrapped up in guys like Barr, Griffen, Rhodes, Rudolph. Need a reboot.
  19. Now that they year is over, it is time for the off-season thread. Since the other thread is already a bunch of pages long, it is better to start a new one. Will Spellman be fired? Zimmer? How will the oline be improved? I say blow it up. This team is going nowhere.
  20. I actually like Cousins to a point. He can make all the throws. Put him in a good system and he'll succeed. I don't buy into the record against good teams. I think it is much more a reflection of being on crappy Washington teams, and in the Zimmer system. Here's to hoping for a change. Immediately.
  21. Yeah, they have less than 100 yards. I really hope the Nines keep playing hard and score again. Would a 41-10 beat down get everyone fired?
  22. Screens only work when the defense isn't ready for them. What a joke.
  23. 6 3 and outs on 8 drives... and this guy is interviewing as a head coach. Ok boomer.
