I like deep dish, have been to both Uno's and Duo's. Here there are several others also, would love to try it again. Riverbrian 1
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 The checkout lady at the grocery story was musing about Gallagher just last night. She wonders whatever happened to him. She did see him live once; had to wear a raincoat. Mauer and Gallagher have very little in common, but I can imagine that old lady asking wistfully about whatever happened to Joe, too. Riverbrian 1

Speaking as one who normally folds the slices to keep them from flopping, i do kinda appreciate the third dimension. So folding also helps them seem thicker. But meh. Food's food. Won't begrudge anyone their foibles. Riverbrian 1
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 HSO:Deep Dish Pizza isn't Pizza. If you have to eat it with a fork and knife it's not pizza.Yup, I tried deep dish once in downtown Chicago and I did not like it. Way too much sauce. On a completely different note, Miguel Sano will serve his one game suspension today. I guess it'll be like an off day for him. Riverbrian 1
Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Looks like Sano will be serving his suspension tonight. I still think it is crap that batters are basically screwed in today's unwritten rules / mlb rules, but it is what it is... Squirrel, Danchat and Riverbrian 3

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Any new (within the last 10 years) exhibits at the Museum of Science and Industry I should check out? How 'bout the Field Museum? Shedd?Permanent exhibits? There are always new exhibits at the Field Museum. Science Museum exhibits are kind of dated (imo) but they do have new shows in the planetarium from time to time. The Shedd has their coral reef exhibit (perm exhibit) which I think was new about 10 yrs ago.

70charger Verified Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 As the Twins travel to Chicago again to take on the hated White Sox, it’s the bullpen that is on most minds. It has been stunningly bad of late and in some serious need of immediate improvement. Without a good bullpen… the bulls get loose and that leads to innocent people getting gored and crushed. The Twins need a better bullpen for containment. Perhaps they should look to the farm. That’s where the best bullpens are built out of necessity. It was Pamplona at Target Field. The carnage was extensive. I ran with the bulls at Pamplona in 2016. It was somewhat less scary than Sunday's ninth inning. USAFChief, Blake, bird and 3 others 6

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Looks like an interesting lineup for tonight. Mauer leads off, then Polanco, Kepler, Vargas, Rosario, Escobar, Castor, Adrianza, Buxton. Interesting experiment. Like Escobar in the 5 hole against a RH pitcher. Not so sure about Mauer leading off but they had to be creative with both Sano and Dozier out. https://twitter.com/MikeBerardino/status/862045624610508801/photo/1 I really wouldn't call it that creative. It's L-S-L-S-L-S-L-S-R. Creative would be Grossman leading off with Mauer leaning on the dugout steps. Blake 1
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 I toured the U-505 at the Science Museum there in Chicago. Reminded me of the Twins; usually submerged and the crew bailed out rather than go down with the ship. Craig Arko and Riverbrian 2

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 You could do a feature on Mrs Ash, who was raised in Chicago. Raised the right way, I mean to say: her dad would call the kids in sick for school on Opening Day, and take her and her brother to Wrigley. One year her brother actually was sick enough to be in the hospital, and she and her dad still went to Opening Day. She also was president of the Cal Koonce Fan Club, unless I am mixing up which player is which. I knew there was a good reason I married into that fine upstanding family. If there is upstanding, why is there no downstanding? If there is outstanding, why is there no instanding? If there is grandstanding, why is there no unimpressivestanding? For that matter, why no coststanding, shortstanding, or softstanding? Riverbrian, Blake, 70charger and 3 others 6
