crapforks Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Tough inning, Some bloops and bleeders. Nothing to worry about.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 So, I walk in to look at the game thread, go back and the Sox now have 16 runs? I guess Haley is going to have to gut it out.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 and to think Molitor wasted his mound visit before that batter. Thanks Molly!
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Kintzler is no different than any of the garbage they throw out there anyway so to me it makes no difference. I know I can't differentiate Kintzler from Belisle from Tonkin from Guerrier. This would have been better if you had put Guerrier 2.0 at the end or used Jeff Gray or Jim Hoey as the example.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Hard to believe we've gone this long without totally exposing the pitching staff
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I wonder how much of an idiot the Sox manager is. He would have to be dumb as a post to bring Kimbrel back for the 9th.But but but...he can get the save lol
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 This terrible bullpen is on the FO No excuse why they couldn't have improved it AT ALL this off season.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 One last, then you can have the last word.It was a curveball. Close enough to be called a strike. I'm guessing Mauer has put those in play before. Last Word? Mmm... Gotta think of a good one "MONKEY"
Kwak Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Golly Molly--It was "Tonkin Time"--but you got a rid of him...
twinssporto Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 This is the sort of thing that happens when you do absolutely nothing during the offseason or spring training to improve your bullpen. I get the occasional blow up but this is a continuing trend. Hopefully the FO and the entire bullpen staff are embarrassed. I'm so glad they canned Tonkin. Can't wait to see the moves made tomorrow or tonight. On a positive note. We have the pieces in place on the offensive/defensive side to be a really good ball club.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Honestly, could Burdi and Melotakis, and whoever else do much worse than Belisle, Pressly and Haley? This is just gross.

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I'm done. **** baseball. I am sick of suffering.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 No, Dick, don't give Haley credit for staying in the game. If he's still injured/re-injured he should have come out of the game. There are no heroic performances in a meltdown like this.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I have literally eaten 6 pieces of pizza since the 9th started
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 It's going to be hard to come back with the pitcher hitting in the 8 spot!!!
bighat Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Jeeezzzz'n rice. Walked away to make dinner, expected the game to be over when I came back and the Sox drop 9 runs on us in the 9th? Good grief this is 2 days in a row now with this BS.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 This terrible bullpen is on the FONo excuse why they couldn't have improved it AT ALL this off season.I agree, but it completely collapsed almost instantaneously. Plus, many of the reinforcements are injured, or not lighting things up. Still, no additions is a puzzling decision.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I just got back from a Bernie Sanders speech. It appears that this was not a fun game to watch.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 It's all circumstance and execution - SF or BB. It didn't work out, but it should have.A walk was never going to drive in a run!! All it was going to do was leave the GD job to someone else. Someone making $22.5m less than Mauer, thousands of PAs less than Mauer. Against Craig Kimbrell. And that's exactly what happened. He stands there, takes strike three, and now its Keplers job, only Kepler needs a hit, not just a lazy fly ball. Three pitches later, inning over. If he never gets a pitch to hit...fine. He took strike two and strike three. I'm ranting!,
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 oh man. Looks like Duffey and Vargas had nice afternoons, in any case. Back at 'em Tuesday!
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 We are icing Kimbrel - ready for our 11 run 9th inning rally.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Hard to believe we've gone this long without totally exposing the pitching staffLevel of competition. Not surprised at all.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 C'mon Breslow. Don't let this get out of hand.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I think it's time for a hidden ball trick
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I just got back from a Bernie Sanders speech. It appears that this was not a fun game to watch.Except for a 15 minute span of being burned in the eye with a red hot poker of incredibly bad pitching, it was pretty entertaining.
