bighat Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Red Sox broadcast just caught Joe yelling after that K from the dugout: "Yeah, that's a pretty big moment there!" then a curse word.
AZTwin Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I knew I would have let Buxton hit there. Jesus Christ Mauer
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Not up there to walk, joe. That wasn't his fault... That was ball... Curve ball on the outside of the plate never crossed into the strike zone. He wouldn't been able to hit that. He took his cuts
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 3-2 count you can't leave pitches that close for the umpire to decide.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 That wasn't his fault... That was ball... Curve ball on the outside of the plate never crossed into the strike zone. He wouldn't been able to hit that. Red Sox broadcast pitch-tracker had it on the black of the outside corner for a strike, FWIW.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Could have used a guy like Hicks to PH that inning. Oh well! At least our AAA backup catching depth is solid!
Blake Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 Nice to see some fire and a bit of "never give up" from Mauer and company.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I knew I would have let Buxton hit there. Jesus Christ MauerKimbrel would have eaten Buxton alive

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 That wasn't his fault... That was ball... Curve ball on the outside of the plate. He wouldn't been able to hit that.easy pitch to flip into left. He also took a fb down the middle on 1-1. Not up there to walk. Up there to put the ball into the OF and tie the game. RBI. They matter.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Nice to see some fire and a bit of "never give up" from Mauer and company.Meh the Twins got 6 runs in a game started by Sale. The offense isn't the reason why they are losing. It's Santana coming down to earth a bit and this ****ty poor excuse for a pen!
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I'm sorry, but Molitor has to get himself thrown out by arguing that pathetic strike 3 to Mauer. There's no way in hell that a slider that is CAUGHT on the outer edge of the plate ever had a CHANCE of being in the zone. That's a horses--- call as we like to say and Iassogna should freakin know better given how long he's been an umpire.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 BS call by the Ump for Joe. Kepler was eaten up by the shark known as Kimbrel. We need to win the MFer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 easy pitch to flip into left. He also took a fb down the middle on 1-1. Not up there to walk. Up there to put the ball into the OF and tie the game. RBI. They matter.Hicks would have hit it out of the park
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 The 8 spot in the order now belongs to the pitcher.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 And Ash gets 'schooled' by Chief.Note to self: leave the fart jokes to Chief.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Just came back from a nice walk in scenic Framingham with the Missus, check the score on our pitchers' duel between two aces and see the score is 7-6 in the eighth as expec-... wait what?

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Red Sox broadcast pitch-tracker had it on the black of the outside corner for a strike, FWIW. In my opinion... That pitch couldn't be hit It was a curveball from a Righthander... left handed batter. It started well off the plate and broke to still off the plate. Mauer would have had Gorilla Arms to touch it. I'll crab at Joe for many things... not that AB in my opinion. Now the 1-1 Fastball he took... OK... but he swung at everything else that made sense. Red Sox pitch tracker was wrong.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 That's BS Chief. I love ya, but that pitch was a ball. Not his point though.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 And the pen about to hand it right back ...........again.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 This is what we call lousy pitching.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 The ol' lack of a shutdown inning bites us again
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Should've converted Hicks to pitcher and used him out of the pen. Thanks a bunch, Terry.
