This is my 100th post

When I clicked on my profile a couple days ago, I discovered that I was coming up on my 100th post. It seems, then, that this is the most appropriate way to acknowledge this milestone.

By saying, “Thank you.”

Thank you to the folks who got this Web site rolling. Your stories at the five-year anniversary mark were great. You continue to provide awesome material.

Thank you to the folks who give us stuff like the Off-Season Blueprints, Prospect lists, minor league reports. What a gift to get all this Twins stuff at one place, especially in the dead of winter when I’m tired of watching Little Big League for the umpteenth time on MLB Network.

Thank you to the moderators. In my opinion, you set the perfect tone. You allow people to disagree (vehemently, sometimes), but you know when it crosses the line to mean-spirited or uncivil, and you step in appropriately.

Thank you to the folks who’ve been starting these incredible game threads. I rarely read them last year, but I’m hooked. They are the perfect blend of insight, cheering when things go well, whining when they don’t (we’re fans, after all), and hilarity. Especially the hilarity. Even my wife has been laughing at some of the stuff that gets posted, she of the “I don’t like baseball, but I like some people who like baseball” beauty. Oh, and the great gifs. Where do some of you come up with those? You’re more pathetic than me (and I mean that in a good way).

And thank you to all who post and comment. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. On virtually every other site that I go to -- whether sports, religion, or politics -- when I read the articles and then go to the comments, I make it about three lines deep before I want to start puking because of the vitriol, profanity, incivility, and general lack of class. Not so here. Though the moderators help by stepping in occasionally, the beautiful thing is that it seems they rarely need to do so. That speaks to the positive spirit that pervades this place.

To everyone – I thought I loved baseball, and I thought I loved the Twins, but both those loves have been enhanced tremendously by this site. I’ve thought of game strategy differently, learned new ways of using statistics, saw the human side of players and fans alike, and considered some both sides of arguments. You’ve brought a new level of enjoyment.

And I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention the clever names and descriptions people have for themselves. I thought about putting a Top 10 list of my favorites, but didn’t get around to it. However, when I saw someone refer to themselves as “Hosken-Bombo-Disco,” I knew I was at home.

So again, “Thank you.” And if you concur with any of this, rather than giving it a boring, old “like,” add a word of thanks for your favorite piece of the Twins Daily pie. And don’t say “chocolate.”

Thanks to the owners.

And thank you to the friends I've made here.

And thanks for the kind words.

How's about you volunteer for a game thread or three?

I am the Ted Kaczynski of non murderous tendencies on the site. I have never owned a cell phone, let alone a smart phone. I love technology, but hate it at the same time. I work for a living on a computer and I can't stand it anymore. I do give my thumbs up of approval for the internet - nothing else. This is my intro.

This is the only social forum I have ever partaken in on the internet. I have had my ups and downs on this site of my own doing. My favorite part of this site is the friends I have made... really good ones. The Game Threads usually bring a lot of laughs and creativity. Sometimes I wander off and get in over my head on other threads... mainly the Sports Bar. I run too hot or cold and no in-between, but I think those folks that usually post in the Sports Bar are as sharp as a knife. I guess that's all.

Congrats on 100 Henry Twins, Jr.!

Thank you, IndianaTwin. You have a good appreciation for the mission of TD.

Now please get to 1,000 posts.

Well look at that, post number 250. How convenient that this thread just happened to show up when I was just one post away from a (somewhat) round number and that I happened to look at the number of my posts in my profile and that I happened to see this thread first at 2:45 am when I should have been sleeping and there wasn't another more interesting thread available to read and post on before reading this thread.

I could not have stated my feelings any better! Great job on your 100th post!!!

My favorite piece of the Twins Daily Pie??? It has to be the game threads, I even skim the ones I wasn't on, just to get a feel for the game and learn math, science, bad riddles (Chief   ;) ) and a whole mess of mundane things.

And again hats off to those that founded and moderate this site!!!! BEST Twins site ever and all others can't even get within a Sano Bomb of it!!!!!  Or for us "old guys" ( again Chief   ;) ) a Killebrew Chrush!!!

I love game threads, scorching hot taeks, talking about food, and Miguel Sano.

Ahem, and, since you mentioned scorching hot taeks...

Wherein I get mildly annoyed and resentful that I didn't think to post something this nice for my 100th post.

Indiana, if you live in the Indy area and want to catch the RedWings when they are in town, hit me up.  There's a few people on this board floating around Indianapolis (not sure if you're one of them).

I'm up north, about 20 miles from the Michigan line, but this is a great idea. Victory Field is an excellent park.

Alas, there's a good likelihood I'll be traveling for work when Rochester comes to town in late July, but Monday evening might be a possibility. It wouldn't be the first time that I've tinkered with my schedule to catch a game somewhere.

Similarly, how about coming up to South Bend when the Kernels play July 15-17? I've not been to SB since they've become the Cubs and made some upgrades to Four Winds Field, but I understand it's also great. The Kernels don't get to Fort Wayne this year, apparently.

South Bend would be a possibility.  Fort Wayne as well, as I have family up that way.  A few of us have ties up that way for the record.

I had to check how many I had after reading this. I was surprised to see I missed it when I got to post 1000 (this will be 1156) Wow! I had no idea

Thank you for sharing your 100th post in such a positive way. I agree with all your thank yous. This is the one site I go to daily which is why Twins Daily is such an appropriate name for the site.

Great post Indiana!

The milb game posts are absolutely one of my favorites. I don't get the opportunity to do or read much on the game threads, but enjoy when I do and hope to do more.

The two goals I have for "someday" are to make a pub crawl or winter fest to meet some of the wonderful people here, and to reach spring training for the same.
