Why Are You Going to Watch Twins Games in April?

Because I'm a fan of this team? Because the record is 0-0? Because I don't have an insatiable need for instant gratification like 90% of the people who post here? Because baseball is a game and is supposed to be fun, regardless of records? Because I will be bringing my 5 year old daughter to her first game in June? Or how about just to spite all the negativity I get hit with on here on a daily basis? Any or those work?

Why Are You Going to Watch Twins Games in April?

For the same reason that I watched Twins' games in March and will watch in May, June, July, August, September, and (hopefully) October.

I am a Twins' fan and not a bandwagon jumper.

Duh.

I work at home now, so I'll be "watching" most every game and I can't freaking wait. When baseball is happening every day, I feel like a whole person. When it isn't, there's something missing. I've got that pep in my step right now, just as a matter of anticipation.

Used to go to 10-15 games a year when I lived back home. But, this year, Twins are facing the NL West in interleague, so I'll be at dodger stadium, and I'm planning on going to Oaktown too.

Working from home is a great luxury... Started doing that more this year and it's great! Get to catch up on Dr. Phil while making calls!

I will watch or listen like always when I have time.  If I wasn't going to invest time on them, why would I be here now?

I am coaching two youth teams and will be watching my oldest on his varsity team when I can.  That puts the numbers of Twins and Gophers games attended combined under 5.

If I could avoid it, maybe I would, but I'm sick with it. I've been patiently waiting six months for the privilege of watching grown men throw the old ball around. Can't help it. It's great.

There are two seasons in every year: baseball season and waiting for baseball season.

Enjoying reading this post - I have been following the Twins for 40+ years - despite the fact that last year was the most embarrasing, disheartening, losingest  Twins season I have seen,  despite the fact that no one picks us even to have a chance at a wild card, despite the fact the expert scout on SI mocks our every move and this new executive team still seems to be acting like the old one - this is baseball and anything can happen.  Hoping for the best and that this team can overcome all that and give us a season to enjoy.   I went to Mississippi State and our girls just beat Connecticut last night so I am still on the high of anything can happen.  Sometimes life surprises us and we have to be ready.

And taking a break to put up a game thread ... yay!

I won't be watching at all.

Local sports was one of the only reasons I had cable TV... after last year's Twinz debacle I lost my taste for it. Cable gone.

Why Are You Going to Watch Twins Games in April?

Because I've been a Twins fan for 35+ years. Because it's a new season. Because I think this team has a chance to be much improved. Because I'm excited to see how the young players progress. Because I'm interested in seeing how the front office works in-season. Because I haven't watched regular season baseball since last September. Because there are so many good people on the roster that I would like to see do well.

I mean... why not watch the Twins in April... and May... and June... and July... and August... and September.

Only because it makes it a little easier to follow the game thread when it occasionally brushes on the actual game. It's been a long winter of looking forward to those Brian and others inspired intros.

I've been a Twins fan since Battey, Killebrew, Tuttle, Rollins, Bequer, et. al. took the field in 1961. Unfortunately, I retired in Maine so I don't get to see many games (can't afford the MLB option on cable on a civil servant pension) so I depend on Twins Daily for my updates. And what I look forward to everyday are the minor league reports so I can track the progress of the future Twins. We aren't there yet, but I feel like 2018 is when the Twins become contenders and for several years after 2018, they will remain a force. So for those of us without a daily TV update, here's to the staff of Twins Daily. Keep up the outstanding work.

I'll watch because there's nothing better than closely following a baseball team.

Other sports might have more exciting games and right now other Minnesota teams are better relative to their leagues, but having a game almost every day is something the other sports just can't compete with.

When you team is going good, you want to watch them every night.

I'm watching because 2015. I'm watching because our lineup could be in the 5-10 range in baseball. I'm watching because the people who suffered through 1994-2000 enjoyed the following decade more than those that didn't.

If you're a T-Mobile customer, you get MLB.tv for free this Tuesday but only this Tuesday.

Another upside is that T-Mo is the least expensive post-paid carrier, too.

I have AT&T. From what I've been told, up here (or hee-ah as Mainers would say), T-Mobile doesn't get very good reception in many parts of the state.

I have been a Twins fan since 1961. Saw my first game in '62. Minnesota winters don't seem, at my age, to be getting any shorter. Twins baseball is the start of warmer and sunnier living. I cannot imagine not listening to or watching as many games as possible. It is who we are.

I suspect I'm going to be too busy to be able to watch or even listen to any games this April, but I may get to watch or listen to an inning or two here or there.

I'm gonna watch because I think we're going from worst to first this year!  Oh, and the Game Threads...  Those are the best!

"worse to first" could be an all time prediction........ :o

Yep, the major drawback of T-Mobile is their coverage. It's good in Minnesota, terrible in Wisconsin.

I won't be watching because I'm too buried in parent student loan debt to be able to afford anything more than the antenna on my roof. But I'm an avid radio listener. Provus & Gladden & Atteberry do a really nice job.

And like everyone else I'm rooting for the young core of players (get Park up here, dammit!) and I want to see how the new FO handles the season. I'm also wondering which of the young core gets traded for SP first.

(Yes, I know Park is not young by comparison. You know what I mean.)

Well, it's Ball, isn't it?  The Lord's Game.  And as putrid and hopeless as my home team have been the past few years, I just can't quit them.  I won't go to any games this year- unless I make a quick trip Stateside- since I live in freaking Hong Kong.

And now- it's up to you guys at TD--  They're on to me at my school, and have cut off my MlbTV access.  So, no more following games in between classes and such- (Heh... most of them start at 8AM or so over here- what a great way to start your day!)

So--- I MUST DEPEND ON YOU!  And the Almighty GAME THREADs to keep me abreast of the goings on.

Are you with me out there?

Are you with me oot there, eh?  (Translated into Canadian for North's benefit)
