The twins are winning a lot of games, this makes me happy.

 

Tim Stauffer has not been good this year, but his intgerity is second to none (read the story of him being 100% forth right when he was drafted)

 

Juan Castro may be the worst hitter per baseball reference, but he still has more at bats then me.

The guys seem to be playing "happy" baseball.   We're getting good production from Dozier, Plouffe, Hunter & others.  Perkins has been everything we'd hope for.

Aaron Hicks has looked like a completely different player in the field and as a hitter from the left side of the plate, and I'm proud of him for facing adversity and changing his approach. When he mashed that home run on Wednesday, I yelled so loud that my dog went and hid under the bed.

In my opinion the Twins have been playing really well as a team, however, they don't seem to really have any one guy who is a big time All-Star.  You know they don't have any regular hitting .330 or any guy with 15 Hrs etc...  But they have a bunch of guys that are hitting .250 - .280 and are being really productive with their at bats and their plays in the field.  They seem to be playing really well as a team.

Two Twins players--Brian Dozier and Trevor Plouffe--have gone from from being near discards on a bad team to solid regulars on a team that is in first place.  Both have demonstrated dedication and work ethic that is commendable.  It's easy to cheer for guys like that, who have overcome hurdles and become better players.

Suzuki is really good at blocking pitches in the dirt. He gets criticized greatly for his defense but blocking balls in the dirt has to be as big a run saver as anything else in a catcher's performance.

This team is playing above everyone's expectations because everyone is looking at the individual parts and not the team as a whole. I want to compare them to the Piranha Twins when they were consistently picked to finish last but seemed to always be in the hunt.

 

This team needs a nickname. Where's Ozzie?

I have been underperforming in life lately, but things haven't fallen apart and have actually been pretty good around me. Most of the Twins players are having subpar seasons, while the team just keeps winning. I take comfort in this:)

The promotions have started and the next core is arriving. May, Arcia, Vargas, Santana, Rosario. They've all seen significant time this year and even those currently out of the lineup should see plenty more. Supplement them with a few more youngsters and you're probably looking at the World Series winning 2017 Twins.

The starting pitching has kept them in ball games - go Hughes, Gibson, Pelfrey, Nolassco, and May!!!  And we have Santana and Milone in the wings!!! An excess of starting pitching is a great problem to have!!

I was very skeptical about the signing of Torii Hunter. I figured it was only a scheme to sell the past, knowing the current team would once again be, at best, so-so.  I was very wrong. Torii has been a huge contributor to the team's current success. Good at-bats, fairly solid defense and playing an immeasurable role in what appears to be a new clubhouse attitude.  The team is once again fun to watch and I think a lot of the credit goes to Mr. Hunter. Keep it up!

In past years, I'd be ho hum ..... now I'm eagerly anticipating tonight's game.
