Any chance they instead pull back Bowman from DFA?  It would be great to see what Topa can do, but he is still showing on the Saints roster.  Bowman certainly did not embarass himself when given the opportunity to contribute.

That isn't allowed. Otherwise, every team would be pulling this trick to get another pitcher up for a few days and then send him back down like Boushley was.
