Minnesota Twins transferred RF Alex Kirilloff from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

This move was necessary to get Dobnak onto the 40 man roster. Kirilloff hasn't played since June 11th, so we are already approaching the 60 day mark.

Honestly, never heard of the guy, but looking at his stats, he seems to have had a few decent years in the bullpen for the Cardinals, although he also seems to give up a lot of homers. I guess it's bullpen insurance if nothing else.

Yup. Lottery ticket. He had some good seasons with the Cardinals and then I think shoulder issues popped up and he has struggled since then.

Twins right-hander Brock Stewart is headed for season-ending arthroscopic surgery to clean up his right shoulder, he tells Bally’s Audra Martin (X link). There’s no significant structural damage, and Stewart says he’s anticipating he’ll be ready for spring training after a projected rehab period of five to six months.

It’s a frustrating development for Stewart, who was away from major league baseball from 2020-22 due to the canceled minor league season in 2020 and a pair of elbow surgeries (Tommy John surgery and a procedure to remove a bone spur). Stewart signed a minor league deal with the Twins and not only made it back to the majors on the heels of that pair of surgeries but emerged as a lights-out option in manager Rocco Baldelli’s bullpen.

The Twins are calling up top pitching prospect Zebby Matthews, reports ESPN’s Jeff Passan. He’ll join an injury-plagued rotation and make his MLB debut the first time he takes the mound. Matthews isn’t yet on the 40-man roster, so Minnesota will need to make a corresponding move to formally select his contract.

Looks like I can answer my own question! I was out of town for almost a week, and just now catching up on Twins Daily, Thus, I missed the update about Topa being "pulled" from his rehab stint. Sigh,. This injury bug to our pitchers is coming at a bad time.

Winder to St. Paul, Louie on the bump today. I don’t hate giving Ober an extra day. He’s on a pace to pitch a career high in innings. Basically a full BP to back up Varland.

Michael Tonkin claimed off waivers from the Yankees. Reportedly Trevor Richards has been DFA'd and Caleb Boushley is with the team today. Might just be until Tonkin is here otherwise another 40 man would be needed.

Per Audra Martin on Twitter the pitching Diego Castillo and Michael Helman are with the team, and Brooks Lee has been activated off the IL. Margot to the IL. Not sure on a 40 man moves for Helman and Castillo though but Paddack to the 60 day IL makes sense. I have the Twins transaction page in a tab so will update when that does.
