    As much as I want an extension, that time is most likely past, he has to be traded as he will now test free agency. Caratini and Jackson look to be an ok tandem right now - earlier in the season TD was roasting both of them.

    Expect surgery and a 2027 date of return as the most likely outcome.

    Erod will hopefully be another teams problem as the Twins will stay in contention and he will be traded to solidify our bullpen in the next 30-60 days

    As has been stated, bullpens are fickle. Keep this rotation in tact, and then Festa and other internal options become your bullpen

    I believe this was more of a mental demotion than anything. He was inside his own head and wasn't getting any better. I think Torii Hunter had the same issue and look what he became.

    Lewis, Culpepper, Mendez, Sabato and Fedko all up???? Who leaves? Outman, Bell, and who......can't send all three of Arcia, Gray and Kreideler out.

    should have the opportunity to be a lifetime Twin if that is his desire. If he wants out to get a ring, then you give him the Kevin Garnett treatment and award him that opportunity

    if he makes it too the end of the season, yes you do this. At least get something back if he signs elsewhere. Catching is needed and we aren't ready for a new everyday catcher yet. Overpay, probably - but has to happen somewhere. Tom - do us a favor and do this, Ryan and Lopez and show the fans you are going to build and not continue to rip this team apart.

    Those that have the need, will want to add one. The level of a 5th starter is accurate by you, as each teams 5th is different. Getting something instead of nothing is obviously better - I just don't want to part with him. That is a want, yes

    I agree with you, just thought they may want to part with a potential problem and might feel that they can "fix him" I think Lewis may be too much - so might be the right piece.

    I still think that the Rocco way of managing his SP went a long way to Sonny wanting out.

    Value in a trade is greater at the deadline this year as an additional year of control is something teams will want. Still a value next year, just not going to bring as much value back. Personally I would love to see Tom P but the money where his mouth is and extend both Ryan and Pablo NOW. Jeffers as well, although with him being a Boras client and having the year he was having - that ship may have sailed. You can never have too much pitching and signing these two gives us plenty of depth to maintain a competitive team as the youngsters trickle in. The possible WorkStopage next year is a real thing and will affect a lot along the way. The Big boys will still go for it, but smaller market teams will have to play this close to the vest

    We live in a different world with player contracts and union issues and a greater difference between the large and small market teams. Makes sense to hold prospects back at the moment
