  1. Ober alone doesn't come close to getting Abrea. Add ERod to the equation and you get closer.
  2. This accumulation hopefully will lead to some trades for proven players at some point.
  3. No way. That is a huge overpay for a slap hitter on the downside. Bell wont save us, but is a cheaper and better option than Arraez would be.
  4. not at the higher contract. Bell is a better buy and easier to flip at the deadline.
  5. I still hold out that hope that we keep all of our "high valued players" and add around them. Rebuilding the bullpen can be done as relievers are fickle. TD wanted to throw away Thielbar and Pagan, and both would look good now. The Central is still winnable. The trades that need to be made are possibly Ober, and then parting with Erod to supplement the roster. 1B is hole thought
  6. I agree with that, and if we could get Vasquez back on a minimal deal would endorse his return as well.
  7. True case of have to wait and see how it works out in the end. But from the deadline through at least 2027 it is a big L. Had they pivoted and added, I think a contender was at hand. Detroit faltered down the stretch and left the door open. Even if they would have kept 2 of the 3 arms of Jax, Duran and Varland it would have been more tolerable for fans. Bader and Castro were goners and they did well with the return there.
  8. Make the commitment to Festa at the back end of the bullpen.
  9. starters should be Ryan, Lopez, Bradly, Ober and SWR. Festa should be at the back end of the bullpen with Matthews as a bulk guy. I would love to see Abel take a spot in the rotation, and I believe SWR would then be the odd man out. I would like to see them see what they can get for Ober packaged with Erod on the offensive (1B) side of the ball.
  10. Agreed. Just would have been nice a couple of years ago when the Twins were playoff bound and didn't add at the deadline anything that would have put them over the top a trade of someone like a Brooks Lee as a prospect at that time should have been done.
  11. I don't have really any suggestions, other than a philosophy that needs to change. Parting with a top prospect or two now and again to fill a real need, and not a rental, is good. I liked the Mahle trade, it just didn't work out. Steer and CES were move valued at that time then they are now as MLB players
  12. Lee had more value as a prospect then he does now. Erod has value now as well. I am stating that I would like to see some chances taken when prospects are at a sell high level.
  13. Julien is another example of how the twins over value prospects. I would love to see them ship some high end prospects for proven players once - we have seen past trade deadlines past when the Twins were in serious contention met with crickets. I want to see Erod sent at high value. I wanted them to dump Brooks Lee when he was a prospect who now is nothing special.
  14. I agree on ERod and would like them to sell high on him to fill other needs. He needs to be part of a package, not sure with who though to add possibly a 1B
  15. And a lockout in 2026 where they don't have to pay a manager if they don't have one
  16. Castro filled his role here and then we turned him for a prospect. Loved him, but we have younger versions. A better reunion would be with Arreaz at 1B. His skill set is devalued in todays MLB, and still most likely to expensive for the Cheaplads
  17. I won't, that is for sure.............I stand by if we would have traded prospects earlier, we would have been a solid contender the past few years. Brooks Lee as a top prospect would have brought back more value as a trade piece a couple of years ago then he does as a player now. Would love to keep our SP in tact, and use some of our OF prospects to reload
  18. I would tend to agree with you, however there is constant noise on TD to bring youngsters up so I think many will to see those they think are saviors play in Target vs CHS...........disappointed they will be but are asking for it.
  19. I throw out this hypothetical. WHAT IF the Twins didn't pull the fire sale, kept the team together and implemented the new running game...............any shot we get in the postseason with Detroits collapse? Probably not, but dang we weren't much different then Clevland at the time
