  1. Ryan, Ober, SWR, Bradly and a FA signing will be the opening 5 unless someone WOWS in ST. Expect Abel and Matthews to be in St. Paul rotation to start with.
  2. I think he has value. He might be the best hitter amongst a group of cloans. I think all would think different if he had a 1B glove on, as I think that increases his value - not sure why it hasn't been done.
  3. This years was yes. I was referring to trading him back in 2022-2023
  4. A prime example of a highly touted prospect that should have been used to deal a couple of years ago at the deadline when we were pushing towards the playoffs
  5. I want Festa in the BP for good. the others I am ok with, but Ryan has to be the stud Ace followed by OBer and SWR.
  6. I don't see the TIgers being that dominant for that long. Skubal is gone at years end, if not sooner. Valdez is a downgrade from him, and has an option after year 2
  7. I don't like the idea of parting with Ryan, but if you do this deal I could get behind. However, you need to have a deal in place for Jeffers before you pull the trigger or his price will not be as high as others will see this as a chance to lower the offer.
  8. I think the Twins are better than a lot on TD give them credit for. Yes, the pain/anger of the deadline dismantle still burns. However, the farm system is loaded. If we get production from some, and not just average then the gap is narrowed. Couple that with trading some prospects to fill needs while not gutting the farm system puts them in a position to contend post work stoppage.
  9. If they truly desire to win back the fans, then extend both and build around your solid SP front with your young position players and deal from the loaded farm system and you can compete in the weak AL Central. Getting to the postseason is the top goal. Once there, anything can happen. the '87 Twins were NOT the best team in baseball. They got in, got hot and took home the title.
  10. This is adding at the fringes of the roster, however I believe they represent slight upgrades. The Central is a bunch of mediocre teams that aren't in the top 10, maybe the top 15 of the AL. Our SP group may be one of the best. Offense will be competitive. Roberts is no longer with Chicago. Skubal has one foot out the door in Detroit. Now the IF's. If we get some solid production from the bullpen and Lee, Lewis, Keachall, Wallner produce an uptick in offense. The division can be won. 80-85 wins is all it will take. Hanging out late may get Bader back.........that would be nice and maybe they convince Arraez to take a smaller deal. Add those two and who knows.
  11. I fear they will deal Jeffers............ Jackson is out of options, This would then be a downgrade and bad deal
  12. Nathan, Aguilera, Perkins all proved to be pretty good in the pen
  13. I see this as a slight increase for the club. Nothing gained and nothing lost. If Gasper gets through waivers they put him back in the minors
  14. not pitcher, but Wallner is a Minnesotan on the roster
  15. Erod is an example that I would like to sell high on, as I think he has a greater shot at being a bust then a star. Not sure who to target, but he should be at the top of list of prospects if we make a trade to compete and not rebuild
  16. But status qou............and not any more fun to watch. With the prospect capital, they need to build back with strategic trades. I believe that they can compete in 2027 if we do more than promote our minor league roster to the majors. 1/2 will not pan out, so need to build through trades as well. But hey, if you just want to watch a AAA roster in the majors and you consider that good - then that is what you will be getting.
  17. I agree for the most part. I think there may be a good chance Lopez will resign, but no need to do it now. A long term extension for Ryan would be a great move IF he wants to be here. If he has zero desire of signing a long term deal, then unfortunately the Twins need to maximize his value in a trade. The rest are sell low candidates, and the stable of younger arms accumulated will be needed for the season. I would like to see Bradley start as our #5, with Abel and Zebby waiting in the wings. Festa to the bullpen for BP depth and most likely where his career arc is headed. This is the depth that will be tested if Ryan wants out and he gets flipped.
  18. I am good with this signing. Clemens is better not playing everyday, but playing enough and moving around. No prospect waiting to break through at 1B, and until Wallner, Keachall, Lewis, or someone other than Julien is told to find a 1B mit this is a better option than before the signing
