well hasn't he gone 3 straight AB's without a 'k'?(oops, just noticed he did 'k' once last night along with a walk...easy come easy go) Is that a second half record!😁 Twins have been plagued by serious injuries all season, so yeah, he is a sort of insurance policy. Definitely should no longer be an everyday player, unless it can't be avoided.

On to forgetting about last night and starting up a new streak. I went to bed miserable. The 6-0 loss was depressing...but what went on in Baltimore just made me ill. We know that even the best closers can't do it everytime, but who could have guessed Bautista would give up a grand slam trying to protect a 3 run lead!! And to Houston...a team that still seems to be public enemy #1 for most. (I, of course, always have the Yankees on that list)

Twins haven't exactly overwhelmed Detroit this season, but winning this series is very important.

.155/.279/.348 with a 46% K rate since May....

It's comical to think there aren't internal options capable of raising, or at minimum replicating that floor.

I just don't get why they don't trust their development system to beat that. But they only promoted Julien due to injury, same with Wallner. Both of them were great in short stints, but sent down.  It is, imo, a flaw in their thought process.

I've come to the conclusion that Gallo is still on this roster because the FO is concerned about depth.  There's merit to that, but still...

Depth of Despair?

Folk are not impressed with Gallo at the plate? How's he doing in the field?

He could be the best fielder ever, and it wouldn't make up for that batting line.

Yeah I don't get it. At this point these are "their guys," so the obsession with washed vets while younger guys nearing 40 man status bottleneck makes zero sense.

Flabbergasted they will not move on from Gallo. Seriously.

If Solano has to go on the IL, I think Gallo is here at least until either him or Kirilloff returns (and probably longer).

I don't know... A little bit of make up can go a long way. All depends on how it is applied.

Ya can dress up a pig too, but it's still...bacon.

There's no doubt that either the manager, or the FO, or both...absolutely love Gallo. Or there's some kind of sweet-heart deal with Boras, to keep Gallo for the entire season. He's cringe-worthy when he comes to the plate.

Since July 1, Gallo has had 7 hits and 37Ks in 28 games. And he's only sat on the bench for the entire game three times. Wow.

How many of those 3 were pink-eye related?

There are other things in the lineup besides Joey Gallo, you guys know that right?

Would love to see them jump on them early and give Ober a cushion to play with.  Faedo shouldn't strike fear in anyone, I hope they are aggressive out of the gates.

But none as enigmatic. These are Twins player stats over the last 30 days. Gallo is off the screen, but I'll hit the highlights:

5-43, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 9 BB, 27 K. slash line of .116/.269/.279 (.548 OPS)

Those numbers are so small, you almost need a microscope to see them.

And yet, we don't need a microscope to see him in the lineup almost every game.
