Hate to quote the immortal Ebbie Calvin LaLoosh----but....."Man, I love winning! It's like better than losing"

Nuke, call me nuke.

I'm am impressed with Gallo's defense at first base. Much improved over Sano's defense. He is growing on me. As Harmon Killebrew once said "what's better? A strike out or a weak hit ball to second base?"

4 games in and they've face a weak KC team and a washed up sore armed Cueto who was replaced by a rookie pitcher. A real test for this lineup happens today against Alcantara with a rehabbed Maeda going for the Twins. One good thing, the strong arms in the bullpen are rested. Hopefully Duran will be available if they need him. After the Marlins series the Twins have 19 games against much tougher competition before facing the Royals again to close out April. Those 19 games will tell us more about this team than the first 6.

Kepler/Gallo HITL watch;. 187-BA, 6-K, 2-BB, 4-HR, 8-RBI, 13-LOB.

I don't know if the Nationals are much tougher, but, yeah, that's going to be a doozy of a stretch and real litmus test.

Yes, but think of it this way. They have also given up 2 runs in like 22 or so IP from their starters. They have, dare I say been dominant so far.

Today will be tough against their stud and probably our worst starter. We will see what happens.

Looking at Brooks Baseball, Sands was throwing four seemers, two seemers, sliders and splitters yesterday, and he barely threw the slider. That's too many pitches, stop treating him like a starter. Cut out the splitter or two seemer at least, and get that slider usage up.

Nice to see Larnach leg one out. I've been thinking he looks slow, but that may just be because he's so big. I don't think we'll ever see his helmet come flying off like Buxton's, though.

Great game overall for most of the team! I have to be a little negative and say that Cole Sands is straight BP and Coulombe should be in the bullpen over him. The one wrong move by the FO so far this season.

We both know the only reason Sands made the team over Coulombe is because Sands has options and Coulombe does not. I'm in favor of putting the best team on the field though...Sands has never looked like a MLB pitcher to me.

Anyone else see the problem here?

Hard to figure out how Gallo just swallows up every pitch over the inside third of the plate the last two days - has one of the best walk rates in the game - and then looks so undisciplined when swinging and missing at pitches out of the zone, down.

Seems there has to be some coaching that could help narrow his visual focus on pitches that are above his knees, particularly with his 6’5” frame? I get he’s working on getting better. He looks like Barry Bonds when he makes contact……..25% of pitches put into play is just unbelievably low……hope he can change!

Okay - Gallo is making me prepared to eat image.jpeg.d99ae480835d300d4b7e3f1ec828d80a.jpeg.  Still early, but I will gladly take success if he continues to deliver.  Sands was questionable last year and still is.  When Winder is healthy he should take this BP slot.

Just in case, grilled is better than pan fried 😉

Kepler/Gallo HITL watch; .187-BA, 6K, 2-BB, 4-HR, 8-RBI, 13-LOB. Why Gallo and Kepler? And how are you viewing this? Low BA and high K and LOB, Or high HR and RBI's

It's the "HITL" watch, which means, holes in the lineup. Two worthless hitters (IMO) that are being paid $19.5M for what? The what is the numbers posted as we go thru the season.
