Today, our Minnesota Twins (1-0) take on the Kansas City Royals (0-1) at Kauffman Stadium in their second meeting of the season. Minnesota was victorious in the previous meeting, benefitting greatly from a strong outing from newly acquired starter Pablo Lopez, who pitched 5.1 scoreless innings.

Today, veteran starting pitcher and 2021-2022 offseason acquisition Sonny Gray will take the mound today for Minnesota, facing off against Jordan Lyles of Kansas City. Clearly, the Twins have the advantage in this matchup, as Lyles has a career ERA of 5.10 and a career WAR of -1.3.

Just planted spinach and cilantro. Dug up some plants my wife hates. Trimmed a tree at the end of the driveway so we can see pedestrians better.

It's not eleven am.... gonna need to do something more today. Not nice enough to golf this weekend.

Our 9 AM flight to Phoenix finally took off a few minutes before noon. The drive to the airport was ROUGH, and then they only had 1 security line open. Finally boarded and tried to push back from the gate and the tug couldn't get traction.....we were rocking back and forth for 5 minutes like a Honda Civic before we finally got rolling....LOL.

Gotta love life up here.....no I mean, you really do gotta love it, otherwise why the hell would we live here?

Hey little boy, what day is it?

Why, it's Christmas, sir!

That means the spirits did it all in one night. Of course they did... They can do anything.

He has 170-some  more chances this season.

Possibly more, but I don't see us losing any postseason games.

You know, there's another way to avoid losing postseason games.

Darn, how is Rocco going to get 162 different lineups now?

Mrs Baldelli, demanded fewer line up changes, so as to spend more time with her beloved rocco.

I find it odd, the MLB Extra Innings has set aside 4 hour blocks of time for live games.  It used to set aside a 3 hour block.  Is this in defiance with the new rules, meant to speed up games?

I plead insanity. I met a rather attractive young lady 40 something years ago, who lived in Mn. That's how I ended up in snow blower land.

If I woke up in the morning and saw that much white death outside my window, I might hang myself from the nearest tree...if I could find one.

Fun fact: Royals 1st baseman Vinnie Pasquantino spent a long time in the minors.  Here he is back in high school. That's him bottom left.

He was kind of raw as a rookie but has settled in to a nice career and is now serving as a gray eminence to the next generation of player.
