tony&rodney Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Sands? He still has some potential and don't forget .... he is a part of that all important pitching pipeline. Right?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Time for a 2 out big rally and crooked number from the "stars" of the lineup!!!!

Certainly not sold, but I’m not writing him off yet, either

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Without fail, every time we play the Yankees, the broadcasters bring up how the twins did things under Tom Kelly. It’s been over 20 years guys, time to move on

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Taillon is on the ropes. If there’s ever a time for a big byron hit..

He's got no business on this roster. Meanwhile we've got Winder, Ober, Gray and Ryan who could ALL be pitching now but are being held back for "extra rest" just in case. Hope it's worth it in the long run, I guess we'll just have to wait and see in Sept when we look at the final standings. You the team doctor now?

stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Nice hitting, batting champ! Also shows the wisdom of maybe trying to run Celestino.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I would do (nearly) anything for a Buxton HR and a shutout performance from the bullpen the rest of the way.

He doesn't need the money, and you only have young kids for so long.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Just a terrible at bat by byron. Sheesh
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Disappointing AB from Buxton.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Bad PA by Buxton. Reminiscent of the old days chasing junk in the dirt.
bighat Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Author Posted June 8, 2022 Quite a disappointing 30-game stretch from Bux here.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I'm old enough to remember when Buxton was good at this.... Sigh.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Pitchers have (rightfully so) stopped throwing Buxton fastball's, and he's largely been unable to adjust. A lot like Trevor Larnach.
RpR Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 As I said before he hates not playing, not DHing, he said it destroys his timing and I think he knows what affects him most.
Doctor Gast Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Too bad they never taught Celestino how to steal. He had a few good opportunities. He's fast enough

bighat Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Author Posted June 8, 2022 Incredibly this is still a winnable game. Credit where it's due, the offense is showing some fight. Not sure how the pitching holds on tonight, but at least it's been a competitive first half of the game.

Hopefully he can get a few more mph on the fastball out of the bullpen.
