Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 We currently have a plasma tv. I'm two drinks in, so I just bought a new TV .... From the bar. What a country.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 How do you have nobody ready to face the top of the line with the bases loaded when an AAAA reliever has thrown like 25+ pitches in an inning?
Danchat Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Hold on... Cano is warming up?! Minaya is at 40 pitches... ugh.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I’m not sure I understand warming up our mop up guys like Cano at this point.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Once again we're seeing the results of a lineup that forces you to get outs in the strike zone.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 FFS. There was zero reason to leave Minaya in there. Rocco always pulls guys an inning (or batter) too early, which if fine in general, but then puts faith into guys like Winder in Oakland, Duffey in Toronto, or Minaya tonight. Makes ZERO sense. He has zero handle on when to pull a reliever.

bighat Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Author Posted June 8, 2022 Can Sands and Minaya both get credited for a loss in this game? Why stick just one pitcher with the "L" when they're both so deserving? Let 'em hit all the homers they want, just don't walk these guys. My god, it's Baseball 101.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Well, I think the problem with Minaya is that he can't find his way back after a misfire or two or three. He had a couple outings like that last year and IIRC in St. Paul this year.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 3 straight walks that score a run, I'm guessing Minaya is back in St. Paul tomorrow.

Rocco had this down as one of the forfeit games he orchestrates when he doesn't think the Twins will compete. Even though they're still in the game, he's not going to change his strategy. Just throw the worst pitchers at the Yanks all game long.

MMMordabito Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I understand that Rocco mostly has the Bad News Bears at his disposal, but the timing of the pulling in this game is questionable at best.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Wait, Cano is still on the roster? Keeping him over Cotton is malpractice.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 It's not often you see the first 3 pitchers in what is still a fairly close game all have 8+ ERAs.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Great work by Cano. Couldn't have came into a more difficult spot against a tougher hitter, and he put himself into a 2-0 hole. Hard to understand why he didn't come in to face DJL
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Only 18 more innings to navigate this series.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I'm going to say this once: we do not discuss moderation in any baseball thread. There are a couple ways you can do that. You all know better. Stop. Thanks.
