And who is going to tonight's game? ME

I will also be there!

Though, I was going to be anyway.  But I will also be there also!

With Correa's and Sano's injuries, Covid-19, and a gastrointestinal bug going around . . . Anybody seen "Apollo 13"? Remember right after takeoff an alarm goes off, but it turns out to be nothing. Jim Lovell (Hanks) goes, "Looks like we just had our one glitch for this mission."

Fingers crossed this is our one glitch with Mission World Series

At shortstop? I guess it took a busted finger of the $105 million dollar man for them to finally listen to me. Wouldn't it be classic if Royce started playing like they paid Correa a fortune to play and they had to figure out what to do with Correa? I never understood that signing and never will.

Is this a serious comment? You don't understand why they signed a platinum glove winning, MVP candidate SS when they could? Sorry to break it to you, but Lewis is the one they'd have to find a position for. When Correa gets healthy they're going to put the platinum glove winning SS back at SS. If Lewis mashes they'll move him to 3B or LF or a super utility role.

Never mind that Lewis was a complete unknown two months ago. The guy literally had not played an actual baseball game since 2019. You can put him in the cage and through every drill in the book but until you get him on a baseball diamond against peer competition, it's mostly guesswork.

I was probably the biggest Lewis supporter on this site amongst regular posters as I expected him to go Akil Baddoo on things and just be a great athlete and figure things out quickly, but I was ecstatic when they signed Correa (ate crow and reupped my season tickets even). Get the most talent you can and figure it out from there. Especially when Lewis is no sure thing to stick at short, let alone be one of the 5 best fielders in the game regardless of position. Lewis and Buxton in the OF together after Correa comes back still gives my baseball heart butterflies.

I'm very excited for Lewis to debut and look forward to him being so good they can't send him back down!

I didn't expect Lewis to come out of the gate like he did, so I figured that the Correa signing was a great excuse not to rush him.  And if he performed they could figure out a way to get him in the big league lineup if they wanted to.  And if that happened, it would be a huge bonus.

Not that I wish Correa, or anyone, to be injured, but this is a great opportunity for Lewis to work with Correa and get the real game reps at the same time.  That's a blessing in disguise, in my view.

It will be a good problem to have won't it? ?

So far the team has played well even when Correa wasn't, so hopefully the drop off if he is out for 6+ weeks won't be too significant, as long as Buxton stays healthy. If Polanco and Kepler get hot that should make up for some of the lost production. But defensively Correa is in a league by himself, and that is where he will be missed the most I think.

Of all the injuries he could've suffered I think this is one of the better ones. It's not a blown out knee or torn hammy or blown out elbow. Broken finger will heal relatively quickly and he'll be back, but it gives Royce the chance to come up and do his thing and establish himself as well. Certainly would've preferred Correa not get hurt, but with the situation being what it is there's worse things that could've happened.

Like . . . a rogue meteor passing too close to the earth and sucking all the moisture off the planet?

Agreed, and it's not likely to be one that hampers him long term either.  I don't know which finger it is, but that's definitely better than a wrist (Kirilloff) and something like what you mention.

I mean it's close, but I'd give the meteor the slight edge on the list of worse things. But I could be talked out of my stance with a solid argument.

Yikes. Injuries, Covid, bad gastro mojo, the Bundy Implosion (not a John le Carré novel).

As a good Twins fan I have to think, "Oh great, what's next?" ?

Should also be a nice night for a change.  That should also help.

You think the average fan would rather see Lewis than Correa? No. CC is one of the ten to twenty best players in the game.

Well, heck, I think I'd buy a ticket to see either of them for very different reasons. But right upfront, I want Correa to stick to the team longterm. Lewis converted to 3rd or OF. :)

Exactly. I would much rather see Correa than the next Twins rookie to underperform early lol
