bighat Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Good lord these GIDPs are awful this series. Hats off to the Sox for their infield defense, they're nailing it and their pitchers are getting ground balls.

I’m not worried about the Twins offense, not even a little, way too early to make any rational judgements on that. Defense is concerning, I hear a lot about Sanchez, but I think Sano is the biggest liability in the field. The bullpen needs help soon, they are not good, so far just a continuation of last season. The bullpen will make or break the season. Mr Sano would like a word with you.

gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Nice play by both Sano and Bundy there.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 OUTSTANDING defensive play there by Sano.
wavedog Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Wow - Great play by Sano on first - as much as I bag on his defense - that was a nice grab on that grounder.

PDX Twin Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 I'm seeing in the Post that yesterday's Boston catcher has tested positive for Covid. Have they talked about that on the broadcast? (I have the sound down off to listen to piano music today.) Apparently they will play in Toronto next week without their unvaccinated players. What a great advantage for the Blue Jays. Maybe Minnesota could do something ...

The bullpen will make or break the season. Agreed. I’m glad Duran is getting his lumps in, good and bad, this month. Because he will be relied upon heavily throughout the season. Thielbar being the most effective and tenured lefty in the pen isn’t ideal. Neither is relying on Sano, Sanchez, and Kepler playing a vast majority of games.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Bundy is looking fantastic. Totally in control of the game.

big dog Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 I told you all that signing Bundy was genius! ok no checking the archives, I'm sure I did

RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Remember when you were a kid, going to school, and Easter Monday was a big deal?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Pitchers not throwers on the mound today. Bundy has to hit his spots, but he's looking like Greg (not Mike) Maddux so far.

Totally agree, slow start sure, no doubt in my mind they turn that around
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Author Posted April 18, 2022 Interesting that the Sox are sending Hill out for a third time through.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Is it too early in the season for me to issue Bundy my unequivocal apology?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Okay, minority opinion. I don't mind Roy Smalley as an analyst.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 wow ... that was well played ... reminds me of that Eddie play out there ... played it perfect off the wall and threw it home for the out

Days off were cherished, as we never had spring breaks, 2 week breaks during Christmas holiday, etc. So a scheduled day off, sprinkled with a few snow days, were great.
