Nashvilletwin Verified Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I know I’m going to have to get over it, but Sanchez has no place on this team. Garver, Rortvedt, and JD for two guys that really struggled last year and the Yankees couldn’t wait to jettison (the Yankees wouldn’t let Urshela start at SS or 3B and Sanchez likely would have been released). We gave up three legit major leaguers, albeit with some issues, and valuable catching depth for that? And everyday that passes, it seems like the probability that Urshela is our starting SS goes up. Sheesh.

Unwinder Verified Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Sanchez appears to be a one-true-outcome player
Nashvilletwin Verified Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 At least Sanchez can make contact, even if it is on a hanging off speed pitch.

Sheesh. I'd love to give the DH at bats to Kiriloff, who is much cheaper, if Sano is playing 1B.

Unwinder Verified Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Miranda looks pretty good in a Twins uniform
chpettit19 Community Moderator Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Pretty good example of defense mattering in that inning. Kepler in right catches that liner Garlic couldn't get to and it's 2 outs no on as he doubles off the runner who was running on the play. Instead they score 2. Give me my Martin-Buxton-Lewis OF for 2023!

dex8425 Verified Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 It's okay that our defense is bad though. We have two hits.

Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Author Posted March 17, 2022 Everyone knows it's too early to draw conclusions about the 2022 Twins. What this post presupposes is... maybe it isn't?
Unwinder Verified Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I think we can safely extrapolate that Sanchez is on track for the Andrelton Simmons Fan-Blame Award.

Good to see he's not complacent, after already winning the same award in New York.
TwinsDr2021 Verified Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 The only positive I can take away is, nobody besides Sands will likely see the bigs this year. (Pitchers that is)
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 It is the first preseason game, and I'm already reminded why I stopped coming to game threads last year....
