Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 He needs to get that runner in from third base. This team can't afford 'good' pop outs. agreed, and clearly the pop up wasn’t ‘good’. There is a difference between process and results.
bighat Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 The problem with having an all-or-nothing guy like Sano come up during a rally like that - he doesn't make productive outs. Marwin's at-bat was just awful considering his experience and talent. Cave, well, we all expected that. He looked overmatched. This team just doesn't know how to scratch runs together.
insagt1 Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 There are no words. We are doomed. That was the worst exhibition of hitting I have ever seen in this situation. SAno, Gonzo and Cave with 3 simply horrific AB's. I knew when Rosario's ball didn't clear the fence we were in trouble. My goodness...the Yankees are in the Twins head bigtime. gonzo and Cave looked ridiculous up there. This is just so damned frustrating.
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 It's like pushing an anvil uphill. Double, Walk, Single. No Runs. Bupkis.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Yankees would have scored at least two in that situation.More like 5.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Might as well have sent Rosario home on Arraez's hit.He would of been Toast, HINDSIGHT . HEAR YA . ITS GETTING OLD
LaBombo Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Yankees would have scored at least two in that situation. They'll probably remove any doubt about that in the next couple of innings.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Gonzalez strikes out swinging at a pitch out of the strike zone and Cave follows up by watching strike three. That was as awful a showing with the bases loaded as I can remember.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Author Posted October 8, 2019 They had a 10% chance of winning the series entering the game, based on the 2-2-1 format's history. If they score 0 runs with bases loaded and no outs, that probability drops to .000000001% Ok, fine, I just made that up by mashing a bunch of zero's, but I bet it's true anyway.Best kind of stats But we got them sitting on the pinocle of hubris. Well done Cave. Next time they'll think they can do that again...
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 That was not the grand slam or even bases clearing double I was hoping for...I would've taken a walk, hit batter or a wild pitch!
insagt1 Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 He needs to get that runner in from third base. This team can't afford 'good' pop outs.It was a terrible AB....you just can't be doing this in an elimination game. Sorry. Not feeling the least bit charitable about a pop out tothe mound.
Blake Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 On the bright side, the Twins made Severino work and he won't be in the game much longer. So, Yankee bullpen! Oh, wait....
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Yankees would have scored at least two in that situation. Or 4, like last time.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Cmon Jake! Mow em down! Go get the Snapper
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 It was a terrible AB....you just can't be doing this in an elimination game. Sorry. Not feeling the least bit charitable about a pop out tothe mound. That was not a terrible AB from Sano. Get a grip.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Omg get jake cave out of this game
gocgo Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 That last pitch tells me that Cave is guessing...and just guessed on defense...not even close. We look bush league.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Awful pitch from Odo, TERRIBLE job by Cave. That's just a routine single.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 CAVE SHOWS HIS SKILLS AGAIN aWFULL PLAY
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 I'm thinking of getting a walrus. Keeping it in the neighbors swimming pool. Do you think the Neighbor will mind?
ashbury Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 That dive by Cave brings back memories of a HR in KC last year....
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Where's LaMonte Wade?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 WTF............Cave?!!!! Way too good a 1-2 pitch Jake.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 I guess it's up to Jake to hold them, but it's not gonna be easy with that kind of defense behind him.
insagt1 Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Now Cave misplays one and Yanks are in business. Twins will regret not scoring because the game will get out of hand shortly. Nothing is going right....again.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Cave almost had that, in the sense that both he and the ball were briefly in the air at the same time. Hey, it coulda been worse, he could have just taken a running dive between pitches.
