I absolutely love the idea of a Hrbek as a unit of measure.  Well done, sir!

I once proposed it to my fantasy league as a pitcher category: (HR + B + E)/K.

Not sure what homers allowed, balks, and errors per strikeout would prove, but it seemed worthy enough to me.

Someone should post a Molitor photo. That would go over well on TD, I’m sure.

I’ve already committed a TD sin on this thread, someone else is gonna have to take one for the team

That’s supposed to be Bob Allison... Can’t guarantee that though.

Is it a good thing I’m glad I got to do a #4 post when we could have just skipped to 3? Torn emotions but 3 has to be Killer. Let’s just skip to 2 tomorrow.

Hard to believe the Twins have won 96 games yet still haven't won the division.

I wasn't able to find the data for winning the division. But, since the beginning of the wild card era (1996), only 1 team ('99 Reds) have won 96+ games and not made the postseason.

Houston has 101 and technically still haven’t clinched. There could be a 95 win team that doesn’t make the playoffs.

Having a good HRBEK means you're getting strikeouts. Thus avoiding home runs, balks and errors.

I want to say Wild Card began with division realignment in 1994, but wasn’t played until the following season.

In 1993 the Braves won the NL West with 104 wins, while the Giants missed the playoffs with 103 wins.

The three division, one wild card format started the next year, but the strike resulted in no post season.

But Houston has clinched a postseason berth.

Houston clinched the ALW yesterday.

Maybe there's some ambiguity in this thread's posts concerning clinching at least a wild card versus the division.
