A buddy o' mine is flying into the cities Monday, and thought to check out Target field which was a kindly sentiment, knowing he's not much of a sportsball fan. Last thing what got him to fenway was the Red Bull Crashed Ice competition.

 

I looked at the schedule and saw there was no game. So i pointed him at the State Fair. I puttered round online, but in the short puttering i couldn't figure out how to pull headliners out from the more mundane every other hour shows. I read some of them allowed to various levels of ribald mockery, until i got to the lumberjack competitions.

 

Now he has something to share with coworkers. But that being said, i's happy to pass on any recommendations.

 

All that said, today's game thread will be about bunnies. If i can stick to my theme, we can award ribbons. Remind me what colour means what though. Been a while since i paid that close attention at a fair.

Serious baseball take.  Can we put Arraez in the leadoff spot, move Kepler to two, Sano cleanup, Polanco fifth, and Rosario to the 6-spot?  I would really like Araaez' professional PA's to come before our power, rather than after.

If they were to do this, my vote would be Arraez, Polanco, Kepler, Sano, Rosario.

 

That said, I don't really have an issue with how the lineup is currently constructed. It's working, but I wouldn't quibble if Rocco decided to do something along either of these lines either.

Saw Harvey at the Guthrie theatre a few summers back.   Okay....Didn't actually 'see' him per se..... just his shadow.  And right on cue, we had an extremely long winter here in Iowa the following year. 

 

Need a W today Twins.

And Eddie Rosario's batting .287 with 27 HRs and 85 RBI (on pace for about 34 HR and 110 RBI). You want to move him down in the order? On a team that's been playing at a .611 winning clip?

 

I also love the idea of Arraez leading off....but how much better can this team play? I can see if this team starts another major skid, but if we're winning 5-of-6 games I say just leave things be.

 

Good problem to have and a fun discussion to have, with all of these numbers to look at!

That's why I said that I'm fine with the status quo. Shifting Arraez up in the order in my mind means that the current top of the order slides down a spot. Plus, Rosario behind Sano protects Sano. Cruz then protects Rosario?

 

These questions are why I'm fine with Arraez down in the lineup. I think the pieces fit well together just fine.

Eddie has a 108 wRC+, due to his .308 OBP.  That wRC+ puts him 11th for Twins regulars (ahead of only Cron, Cave, Gonzalez, and Schoop).  His OBP is 13th amongst regulars (ahead on only Schoop).  What  Eddie can do is hit for power, and be pretty good in high leverage (124 wRC+).  That's best suited for the 6 or 7 spot in the lineup, when there will hopefully be baserunners for him.

Wholeheartedly agree.  As someone who ultimately shares your perspective, I have to add (because in Sano's case this is what I was saying when he was struggling) I think Rosario's mean is something slightly higher (in terms of OBP/etc) than he has been for the last streak or so (walked once in like a month).  In Rosario's case even with that little bit of positive regression, he's still worse than a lot of our other "core" regulars at getting on base.
