The timing of when Sano comes back from a rehab assignment will be interesting.  I wouldn't think they would bring him back to the active roster if he could only DH or be a bench bat for awhile (with Nelson Cruz already holding down the spot).  Seems like they would want him to be able to play 3B with no limitations before he returns.  Perhaps mid-May is a more realistic scenario?

Has JoJo not performed a version of this song?

I wish... She's only sung the best 2 songs of all time... Too little too late and Get Out.

Cheryl Crow, man!

Oh definitely Cheryl Crow.

First of all, it's SHERYL Crow, and c'mon! If not P.P. Arnold (the original performer), then Cat Stevens (the songwriter).

Sheryl Crow's version is barely ahead of Rod Stewart's. And both of those might be behind Swedish rap, ragga and dancehall musician Papa Dee's version:

I'm a music junkie. I play Cat Stevens on guitar all the time. But if you're going for comedic effect play Sheryl Crow. If you play the 60's versions millennials who don't know music will just tweet about how the Twins picked a weird cover of Sheryl Crow (which makes me weep inside).

FWIW, the area of skin overlying the Achilles tendon is VERY thin (and has poorer blood supply compared to surrounding tissue) and these types of wounds (whether created surgically or by trauma) are always susceptible to healing problems. As with many things in medicine, hindsight is 20/20, but at the time of the injury it couldn't be known how things would play out. Yes, looking back, could things have been handled differently? Sure! But it's a totally different thing in hindsight than at the time the decisions needed to be made. Since the report is that a number of different physicians were consulted and a consensus was made, then I can only assume these were sound decisions that, unfortunately, didn't turn out as one would hope. Medicine is tough like that.

Back on topic.

While Marwin can step in at third, this limits his special use. Fate and blame aside, Sano seems snake bit. Over and over and over. And over and over and over. He will turn 26 before he takes the field again on May 11. This is disgusting. Baldy was even down there visiting. Why wasn't he immediately flown to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester? This is total irresponsibility and mismanagement, in my opinion, by the Twins staff for not taking total control of this from jump. Man, Sano needs constant supervision, apparently, or he will find a way to find bad luck, I guess, if that is what you want to call it. 26 on May 11. And after the little injury to Santana that took him out the whole year..... and maybe ends his career.......

If Sano was slow before, this is not going to help, even when it heals. And his present value? Hardly anything. now.

A seemingly not-major injury that didn't "heel" right.  Maybe made worse because Sano was too eager to get back at?  Murphy's law--he's finally ready to go, and a freak injury at a VICTORY celebration derails him.

I'm more worried about Buxton's 3 strikeouts today...

Nope. He was definately Cat Stevens when he wrote it (or maybe legally still Steven Demetre Georgiou), just as Lew Alcindor (Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor, Jr) played for UCLA and Cassius Clay knocked out Sonny Liston. (In fact, Muhammed Ali - Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. - apparently never legally changed his name........ https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/boxing/2016/07/11/muhammad-ali-name-change-cassius-clay/86956544/ .......) But now I am miles off topic.......... miles from nowhere....

But then we're just letting the millenials win!

How about this compromise: just play an instrumental version on the ballpark organ?

I sure am glad we signed Marwin Gonzalez! Our 3B depth is not great, so having Marwin available to step in is a BFD.

And I agree, this does open the door for Astudillo! Why the heck not. Hell, this would mean we can use garver as a PH or DH if needed on days when he's not catching without anyone freaking out!

I hope Sano heals fast and completely. It's a shame this happened to him, because it seemed like he had done a lot to be ready this season. foot injuries are freakin' weird, man. Friend of mine broken his foot walking across his yard when he hardly even stumbled. rebroke it almost 3 months into the healing process when he slipped a little on some sand. Both total freak accidents.

Yeah I could see this being a larger setback than stated simply because he now has to be able to adequately field a position in order to play. It's conceivable that early May rolls around and he's struggling to look MLB game-ready, thus extending his Rochester stay. I don't want to see a rusty Sano striking out at 50% and booting balls in Minnesota when we have serviceable replacements on-hand.

This might buy time for Austin as well. If the Twins go with 11 pitchers until a 5th starter is needed, they would have a bench of Astudillo, Austin, Garver and Reed/Cave.

So the first page it's all Sano and the Twins fault?  As Parker has told us more, those posts look apology-worthy.

Sano had an accident happen and went to the doctor.  Doctor took care of him.  Twins check doctor's work and OK it.  (So much so that plugged-in Reusse dismisses injury as irrelevant)  A few weeks later the Twins re-check and healing isn't going as hoped.

Que some of you losing your minds.  You know what that scenario is?  Bad luck.  It happens in treating injuries all the time.  No one is at fault.  Should probably rethink how quick some of you grabbed the torches.

And some should think about who you're quickly coming to defend to the death... I used to be one of them. Not anymore. There's always something going on with Sano, always things that prevent him from being on the field, and always clouded in mystery.

I'm not defending anyone, other than against the torches.  I too, would like to see Sano stay a little safer in his choices to avoid injuries, but this sounds like dumb luck.
