One thing I do see is that should be a pretty clear indication that they need to sell.  This strikes me as an odd time to do this unless TR was pushing back against deadline selling.  Maybe I'm reading too much into this.

I never like cheer for people to get fired or lose their job but the Twins definitely needed to make a change.  I'm hoping they go outside of the organization though.  If they're going to make a change after 5 terrible seasons it really needs to come from the outside.

Perhaps you're dead on about that. TR's never been a great seller and they need to do something at the deadline. I'm now more optimistic than I've ever been at a trade deadline.

Obvious. Only reason people didn't think this would happen was that the Twins are the Twins and are loyal to a fault.

 

Now, there needs to be some outside GM to come in and clean up the mess ...

To be fair, Antony has never gotten a chance to call the shots, he deserves his chance, the next 3 months are a good audition  period for him to "earn" consideration for the full time role. Ideally he makes some aggressive trades (Sano, Buxton, Berrios untouchable) everyone else? Fair game.

Good luck to Mr. Ryan. Getting fired sucks, but he seems like a level headed guy with a good support structure.

 

I hope we find out from the owners why this was done, at least somewhat....I'm curious on the direction now.
