Very nice analysis. Is there a video for the Buxton play mentioned in these sentences? It sounds like there should be a video embedded or linked but I don't see one.

Wow! Cuzzi needs to be suspended by MLB for that. Time for the robot strike zone. That is ridiculous!

hybridbear started following Twins union rep

One thing that stands out to me in the list of Twins Union Reps above is the lack of diversity. On a team where there are players from many different countries every single union rep for the Twins on that list going back more than a decade is a white guy... maybe it's time for a Latino or African American player to be the Twins Union Rep.

Que padre saber que los Twins se encargan de la educación de los peloteros jóvenes. Es muy importante para su vida después del béisbol, especialmente como muy pocos llegarán a tener una carrera exitosa en las grandes ligas. -

4 Twins Statcast Standouts
hybridbear replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I've also seen Simmons make some really poor defensive plays so it's interesting to see his OAA being so high. I hope Garver & Arraez will be back soon! These stats show how much they're missed in the lineup. Thanks for writing such a cool article with the statcast metrics!- 22 replies

How Improved Is the Twins Defense?
hybridbear replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
DEF & UZR don't have individual player metrics? It would be nice to see which players are contributing to those numbers & which have negative #s. Also, the introductory paragraph talked about Polanco but then the article included no stats for Polanco...- 8 replies

Week in Review: No End in Sight

Time to stop buying tickets to Target Field then. Make the Twins feel the pain in their financials. Maybe then Pohlads will get a clue & fire Baldelli, Falvey, and Levine. -

Game Recap: Rangers 6, Twins 3
hybridbear replied to Jamie Cameron's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I was at the game last night & when Rogers came back out for the 9th instead of Colomé or Alcala I said to my friends that the Twins would lose. And once Rogers let the Rangers tie the game & Wadell was the only reliever warming in the pen I said that Baldelli didn't care about winning the game. It's time for Baldelli to be fired. The Twins have the worst manager in all of baseball. -

Designated Hitter Gets New Wrench for Twins in 2021
hybridbear replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I like the idea of Nelson being around more as a coach than a hitter. His steep decline at the end of the 60 game season is a troubling sign. And I’d rather see the youngsters get the majority of the at-bats in 2021. It’d be nice to see him offered a lower salary for 2021 and if he leaves then he leaves. It depends on what the Twins FO believes is his ability for 2021, if their metrics indicate a decline then it’s time to not be sentimental but to make a solid business decision. -

Time to send Rogers down to the alternative site until he figures out how to pitch again. Does he have options left? -
I agree completely with the previous comments. It's not helpful to have a writer skip over the most important half inning of the game in terms of understanding the outcome. I had gone to sleep before Rogers blew it & came to read what happened. But instead I had to rely on the MLB GameDay summary of the plays & the few videos available there to understand what happened. I completely disagree with Baldelli's decision to bring Maeda back out for the 9th, no hitter or not. Watch Maeda end up on the IL now after throwing so many pitches. I don't get Baldelli, he seems to be so progressive but then every once in awhile he makes these dumb "old school" decisions of ignoring pitch counts like this. Also, what on earth is wrong with Rogers? Time to move on from him as closer & let Romo or Duffey get the saves. Rogers is not the best reliever this year at all. I'd say he's worse than May as well this year. Time for the pitching coach to figure out what's wrong with him.
