Kreidler can fill in when someone needs a day off or as a defensive replacement.  Let's not go looking to force him into the lineup like they are doing with Caratini.  Kreidler is the one who should be the 13th man on the bench.

Good to see him finally be rewarded I'd guess Jenkins will be following him in the next few weeks great to finally gets some more juice in the lineup. I'm guessing we see Houston head to St Paul now that theres a ss job available for him . Congratulations to the kid it's a well deserved promotion

Next season? There probably won't be a next season. Teams are reluctant to add players to the 40 man roster because they would be locked out next season.

Solid move. Kreidler has been making some good plays at SS, but he looks more of a utility guy. Hoping they plug Kaelen Culpepper in at SS and leave him there for a while...like ten years. Unless Marek Houston is even better. Infield talent finally coming up. Stronger up the middle!

Next, how about some outfield talent? I would rather see a home run ball rolling down Target Field plaza than across the roof of some St Paul warehouse. Let's see if Walker Jenkins can do that in Minneapolis.

One other thought. This is the time of year where basically every MLB player goes on revocable waivers. That means Alex Jackson has been there. Maybe he didn't get claimed. If he didn't he can be assigned down, removed from the 40 man roster, and still be int the org as catching depth.

I'm not a Vegas guy but if I had to bet on either the Twins winning the 2026 World Series or MLB being cancelled in 2027, my money is on the Twins.

I posted this earlier in another thread.

I think there will be somewhat of a season, but a shortened season IMO. The salary cap is a huge issue going into the new CBA deal, and from what I heard, the players and owners couldn't be farther apart on their stances. I think the hard cap and salary floor is the best way to do it. The players think it suppresses player earnings and restricts open market flexibility. The players have big egos and want what they want; that's why I'm a little nervous the game will be lost in some context.

However this is the rare year where this statement holds true. For once I'm relatively excited.

Fedko is ikely 60 day IL because of the severity of his injury would be my guess on 40 man.

Now we just need Jenkins to slide right into CF, send down Roden, platoon Keaschall and Clemens in RF, platoon Larnach and Martin in LF, and Kreidler becomes the super utility, filling in everywhere needed.  Go Twins!

Unfortunately in this case, revocable waivers are no longer an option... they were eliminated a few years ago.

That's too bad. I feel for the guy to have this happen just as he was getting on the radar. Probably helps us in one way. He didn't impress in his debut but he didn't get a very long leash and he isn't the first guy to stink in his first shot at the Bigs. If he's out for the year, it becomes a lot easier to take him off the 40 man now to open a spot for Jenkins or Ross (or CJ Culpepper, Houston, etc.), get him through the Rule 5 draft, and still have him for next year if another opportunity arises. Maybe he's better the second time around  A lot of guys are, including Tori Hunter and Mike Trout. They both stunk their first go around, had to go back down, and then made their mark.

Promoting players with special potential simply makes sense in general. That is especially so in a pennant race where the Twins are in dire need of any spark on offense they can generate.

Culpepper, a quick riser seems like the real deal. Will be fun to see how he handles things!

If Twins released Arcia I have to think they release Gray. Therefore, it's time to promote the Twins' future SS Marek Houston to St. Paul.

Jackson is not just a third catcher on most rosters. He would have been claimed as several teams are hurting at catcher. The White Sox actually traded a DFAed player to get the desiccated remains of Joey Bart because Bart was significantly better than their other catchers. And now Bart is hurt and it matters more than it ought to. Jackson gets claimed if he's made available.

It is time to move on from Roden, he has not grabbed hold of any of the three opportunities given to him.  Yes he hit a double yesterday, I am sure most AAAA guys can do this at some point during a stint in the majors.

Revocable waivers were eliminated in 2019 when they changed the trade rules.

Who plays 2B.  And why would you platoon Keaschall, he has been hitting over .300 since May and you want to play him a quarter of the time.

I'm with you on that. Move Houston up to AAA and get his feet wet now. Let's see if he's a viable option for 2027 or if he'll need more time to be ready at the plate. From what I read, he ready now to come up and field the SS position in the Bigs.

My understanding of the situation is that a player is still eligible for poy if he is brought up after the trade deadline. That and other reasons were why the twins waited. Good luck to him.
