  1. Dominos; who plays third, who plays first, who DH's? Same problem we had when Kreidler went to center. The whole synergy is mashed up.
  2. Without Gray, who do we have to back up Kreidler?
  3. Exactly, and look how it turned out.
  4. Like I said on another article, "Pull a Polonco and give Marek Houston the short line (A to Bigs) and bring him up for a very strong cup of coffee." We can't keep waiting for Culpepper to get (be) healthy. Otherwise, Arcia is our best option.
  5. Pull a Polonco and give Marek Houston the short line and bring him up for a very strong cup of coffee. Prepare his mind for the very near future.
  6. Good call, but my point was that anyone with hamstring, hip issues should not be going at full speed, stopping, and returning to first base. It has taken a few of our players out.
  7. A few years ago, they had Buck trying to steal. The batter fouled off three pitches on every steal attempt. Buck came up lame the next day. It happened today. Aren't the coaches communicating with the hitters when a steal might take place? A lot of hitters hate it when baserunners are dancing back forth.
  8. Parent's/Coach's kid in youth baseball, always plays short, or pitcher. Forgive the stereotype, but it's true. Brooks had no choice. He is Daddies boy.
  9. Jax. Duran, Varland were all converted starting pitchers. You hold on to your proven starting pitchers, it's too hard to consistently develop your own, and too expensive to get one from free agency. Sometimes you get lucky (Lopez, Ryan). It's much easier and less expensive to promote a reliever from within. Continue using our relievers as trade bait. We'll be OK.
  10. Two words (Louie Varland). How'd that work out? Take out a proven Jax to pay an unknown (and probably more expensive) Paul, good luck with all that?
  11. The grass is always greener... but in our case the grass is greener on our side. Our young ones just ran out of gas. Next year will be a different story. They are going to come in, fired up, physically and mentally fit to make sure the pain of last season doesn't happen again.
  12. Bailey and his agent thanks you for all the stats, boosting his value vs. others.
  13. Two words (name actually); Louie Varland. How'd that work out The definition of management is to put personnel into positions of the company where they can mutually benefit most.
  14. Where he ends up, will most likely depend on our friend Scott Boras.
  15. Remember the Twins roster built in 1984. We have a good core of youngsters, that we played bad to get (draft choices). Stay with the plan.
  16. True. The pitcher's (starting and relievers) outings were either too short or too long, leading to avoidable losses, especially early in the season. The choice to pinch hit Manny Margot endlessly, is unforgiveable. BTW, dumpster diving for relievers trashed our season.
  17. Right-size the business? We should have seen the writing on the wall.
  18. Our youngsters just ran out of gas. They will be ready, hopefully for next year. Plenty of talent on the learning curve.
