Is Trevor Larnach a Fit for the Houston Astros?
Sampson5 replied to Matthew Lenz's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
They absolutely should trade him to clear up a everyday role for jenkins or e rod this summer . Should be targeting a near or already in the majors reliever in a trade . Can't be a prospect that's years away it's the easiest way to get bullpen help without giving up any good prospects could see wallner also being moved since feel like twins are out on him after they called up roden over him when wallner been tearing up AAA pitching -

Nice win . Kinda wild seeing the twins win a series vs Cleveland the exact way they usually beat us walks , errors and singles cool to have it in our favor past 2 games be awesome to sweep them tomorrow but either way twins did their job which was win the series. Keep the pressure on the fo to get some damn bullpen help so we aren't counting on so many cooked relievers

Don't think much changes maybe some minor tweaks but probably stays pretty similar considering zoll has been here so assuming he's agreed with the draft strategy. My hope is they bet on power more often alot of the drafts are full of hit tool guys with power questions same with other tools like speed, defense . With # 3 they gotta take whoever is left of the top 3 be tragic if they took a worse player to save money for later in the draft if you pick that high it's gotta be bpa imo

Taj was dominant tonight even that homer wasn't a bad pitch guy hit it out but that was a low out of the zone by a decent amount . When taj is on his game he looks like a top tier starter hopefully the rays will do us a solid in a few years and send us another top of the rotation arm once again lmao curious what twins did to unlock taj is it just development or did they scrap some things he was doing with the rays he looks like a totally different guy this season

Twins Take a Chance on Former KBO Closer Woo-Suk Go
Sampson5 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Good dart throw if he's solid you get a pen arm for nothing if he's not you just dfa him in a week or 2 and move on . Really no downside with how bad the bullpen currently is hard to see him being much worse then guys like funderburk, Adams or lawerson . Had to add someone and hopefully find 1 more trustworthy arm . Be awesome if him & raya could turn into trustworthy arms so it no longer feels like we're screwed if anyone besides banda, gomez or Morris is the guy coming into the game especially with a close game . Probably about time to start moving off the bad relievers starting with rogers all due respect to the guy but he's cooked no clue why he's up while rojas sits in St Paul for no reason since they aren't building him up as a starter still in the few innings every 4 days role- 20 replies

Twins Minor League Report (7/5): Wichita Walks it off in Extras

Probably time to get a new outfielder in the mlb and send fedko back to St Paul he's been pretty terrible since the call up I'd prefer it was Jenkins but even if it's wallner that's okay need some more juice in the outfield with buck probably missing some time and honestly could even go on the il to allow that hip to heal although would make him ineligible to play the asg which probably for the best for the twins chances to remain competitive in the 2nd half

Walker Jenkins's Debut May Be Further Away Than You Think
Sampson5 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Would be crazy to keep him in the minors assuming he can stay healthy & continue to play well he should debut this summer probably after the deadline once they clear up a role but he's gotta stay healthy which is a big if for a twins prospect these days . Personally think only way he's still in St Paul at the end of the year is injury because he's already proven he can hit AAA pitching don't think the potential lockout effects the decision nor should it -
Astros 6, Twins 4: Walks Do Haunt
Sampson5 replied to Cory Moen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Tragic full count on both of the walks before the gs .. new it was coming tho that's what happens when you pitch to Alvarez but it is what it is. Cool to see raya & orze need the Astros scoreless rest the game at least gave the offense a shot at a comeback but wasn't meant to be . Also it may be time to get a new outfielder up in the majors neither martin or fedko is contributing much these days maybe time to find someone who can especially with buck hurt and likely out for a few games -
Twins should be doing what the rockies did with rumfield and target guys with success in AAA but are blocked at the mlb level . Won't always work but be awesome to land a everyday player with a high 800 ops especially when the twins usually backup infieders usually struggle to even provide average results at the plate although twins have gotten some good results on waivers with both Clemens last year and kriedler in the off-season

I can't see why in a close game funderberk is the guy they decide to put in the game so many better options in that spot honestly there's a real argument he shouldn't be on the twins roster right now with how bad he's looked even with limited options in St Paul . Shelton makes some insane decisions been far to many losses this year where his choices have been a key reason for the loss that's why I don't think he's long for the job and really shouldn't even of been the hire in the first place. Replacing Clemens is even worse taking your 2nd best bat out of the lineup for Austin Martin is wild when you leave Buxton in so wasn't the white flag . Maybe they should just walk Goodman going forward it's clear none of our pitchers can handle him . Allowing him to hit 4 homers in 2 games is crazy

Orze has had a few moments this year but he's been mostly terrible not sure why he's the choice in the 9th sure we're up by 4 but at that point go to one of the trustworthy arms the fact that the walk off was even needed makes that game feel like a loss . Feel for taj takes a no decision in a game where he left up 7 runs .. yikes good thing offense bailed the bullpen out although this game probably further tells you the twins aren't making the playoffs unless they decide to go aquire multiple relievers at the deadline which is not happening obviously

That high A lineup been a tough watch which is understandable with so many recent call ups man when they lose Tait at some point here they may be damn near unwatchable . Nice to see young continue to have his moments probably gonna be a while before we see him start having consistent success gonna have to be patient and hopefully at some point the k rate can get down to a normal slugger range

Trading Trevor Larnach Just Makes Too Much Sense
Sampson5 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Honestly I'd be crazy not to trade him to create a spot for one of the outfielders at some point here you want wallner and one of the others up here easy way to do it is trading larnach I've always assumed fedko was a placeholder until roden or a prospect was ready and with how well larnach is playing you could actually get a solid return hope he continues to thrive until the deadline to maximize his value -
Could Brooks Lee Be Better With Just One Swing?
Sampson5 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The argument makes no sense for 1 key reason it's only been this season where he's been better from the left last year most of it was from the right some switch hitters are like this rotation of what side they play better hitting that's why you can't scrap it until there's multiple years of evidence that's he's significantly better from one side of the plate . Twins would never do it tho unless it gets to the point where the only swing is carrying his production which isn't happening last I checked his ops from both sides is like a 30-40 point difference when you have a switch hitter go to just batting on one side it's usually when the difference is multiple hundred ops points thru multiple seasons. Possible it happens eventually but you don't do this immediately once a guy starts having some success more likely to ruin his career then help him imo -
Twins love a mid vet arm who's been terrible for years over literally any other arm in st Paul ... It's kinda crazy how often they do this plenty of better options in St Paul hell isn't raya even on the 40 man ?? Confusing and yet almost always goes laughably terrible. It's to bad that lee homer went foul while clearly wouldn't of mattered would of been nice to have a 2 homer 4 rbi game outta someone in the lineup although possible that changes the game since would of got to the pen sooner at the minimum. Also about keashall I'm not sure what the twins do about him defense is tough but at the same time really no position to hide him at guess twins gotta just pray at some point the defense becomes passable ? Figured this series would be a tough watch but it's pretty sad when you play a team and it looks like they are playing a scrimmage vs a NCAA team lmao but hey maybe Joe saves us from a sweep good news is twins love to randomly abuse a ace for 7 + runs so we can only hope that tread continues
