I like this. Let's give him another shot and see what he has. Could throw a couple good games for us or allow SWR/Paddack some rest leading up to the playoffs

He's a reliever. He'll have no effect on SWR or Paddack.

I'm gonna go out on a limb...and predict that the Dobber gets into the game tonight, probably in the 3rd or 4th inning...after Festa implodes and we're down 5-6 runs or so. That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Festa might give up 5 or 6 runs, but I'll never blame pitchers for the loss when the offense refuses to score more than a run or two.

Agree on Cobb. Wouldn’t want him on the Twins. It’s more the fact that teams are at least making moves to improve and we’ve done nothing. Still have an hour and a half to go.

You wouldn't take a flyer on Cobb in exchange for say Dylan Questad which is about the equivalent rated prospect that Cleveland gave up for him???

I sure as hell would......even if he was our 5th starter.....

The Erceg trade is a kick in the pants. Twins have a need. Royals' farm system doesn't have much. You get outbid by a team chasing you in the standings. Just awful.

I acknowledge I know nothing about the Royals farm system, but it's reported they gave up 2 top 15 prospects in their chain and a 3rd minor leaguer who's having a blow up year.  That's a lot and I can't see the Twins doing that.  Even if it's not about $$$$$$.

He's started 19/21 games? Averaging almost 5 innings a game.

He started two games as an opener this year.  Has started in the past, he is more of a swingman like Sands,

This whole “right size” is a kick in the pants. The payroll limitations after winning your first playoff game and playoff series in 20 years is a kick in the pants. Getting out of a bad TV deal only to again sellout and take the money is a kick in the pants. The whole comcast/diamond sports/TV fiasco is a kick in the pants. Twins front office/ownership looking around with blank looks on their faces and hands in the air wondering why people aren’t coming to games is a kick in the pants. At some point a guy becomes sterile after all those kicks in the pants. If this team doesn’t win it all this year the box office/ season ticket sales may look bleak come 2025. If you’re Falvey do you sign another contract with the Twins?

So far this deadline we've lost Stewart and Staumont and replaced them with Dobnak and Richards.....

There's got to be a joke here somewhere.

Did we really lose Stewart? His ERA went from 0.68 to 5.17. Clearly not healthy and also not gone from the team.

If you thought Staumont was going to continue his success with a 6.6 k/9, I have a bridge to sell you.

now, the trade for Richards was really disappointing, im rather upset with the FO and ownership, but the joke is me being upset that as a 40+ year long Twins fan, I should be well accustomed to disappointment

I may not be the sharpest knife on the tree but...why own a team if you're not going to even try to compete?

I like the knife on the tree part, whatever and however you carve it up.

Which teams have an inside track to make it to a league championship series or higher--Balt, NYY, LAD, Philly, Cleve, maybe Atl, Milw. if they get hot? The Twins right now are a front line starter away from joining that crowd. We've got a lineup that could compete with the best, but without at least three quality starters they're still playoff cannon fodder. I really believe they're that close. ((And we HAD the pitcher we need, in Sonny Gray!))

This team is run as if by a risk-averse midwestern farmer. No, no flash for me, thanks, I'll just stand pat. As if they are the poster boys for why the twin cities has the longest championship drought of any metro area with three or more pro teams.

Now watch fans get their hopes up while Lucy plants the football for Charlie Brown once again. It's beyond maddening.

I was mocked when I said Dobnak would be back.

Considering that Dobnak is Jake Cave as a pitcher.......
