Heading into the ASG Break with a W is always nice.  Be nice if CLE could lose every now and again.

It's a slow, steady process; Cleveland is 5-5, 10-10 & 16-14 over their last 10, 20 & 30 games, Minnesota is 6-4. 13-7, & 20-10 over the same period. Inching ever closer...

It's another "Meatloaf" rubber game. While I think the Twins have a decent chance, they've won a bunch of deciding games in three-game series. At some point, they'll lose one. I assume Castillo will get the start somewhere (second base?) depending on Correa's health and if he got to SF at a reasonable hour.

Yes, the Twins really only need to worry about themselves. In the last 60 games, they'll play the Guards eight times. Whoever wins a majority of those games probably wins the Central.

Can't wait to see what the lineup is today. CC? Miranda? Killebrew?

I think it's surprising they are bringing Diego and making a 40 man roster move instead of just bringing up Julien. I know his numbers aren't the best in AAA or at the big league level but still.

I'm not as surprised by that because Rocco explained the reason for calling up Camargo as having to face a couple left handed starters this weekend.

What shocks me is... Why not Yunior Severino who is already on the 40 man instead of Camargo? And follow that up with... OK... you called up Camargo... well then... why not Severino instead of Castillo now that you need two.

Last time Camargo was called up he got no playing time. Unless he is the lineup today... he's going to get no playing time this call up either.

They had two chances to call up Severino and passed both times. 16 Dingers in AAA.

Is Yunior in the doghouse?

Not sure what is worse as a fan, Vasquez at DH or 3B?

Hopefully one of the injured can field today.

Yunior may not be in the doghouse, so much as Yunior is not considered to be a reliable glove at 2b or 3b at this point in time.  Right now they rather desperately need an infielder who hits right handed (because lefty on lefty matchups are an abomination, I guess), and Yunior has mostly been playing 1b at AAA.  It makes me think the Twins have decided his glove just won't play at 3b or 2b, even though he has played there a lot in the past.  I think his glove has always been rated as shaky, at best.

Castillo is a placeholder.  Looks like he will give the Twins adequate defense and likely won't hit much, but he probably is only on the MLB squad until someone comes off the IL, and perhaps not that long.  He can then be removed from the 40 man when a spot is needed.

Couple lefties in the lineup today. Win or lose this was a strong first half. LY we were 45-46 at the all star break.

Would rather have Lee at SS and Castro at 2B, but its Rocco's call not mine...

That might be... it's the only plausible reason.

In the meantime... Jeffers is the DH and Vazquez is Catching.

Camargo is watching from somewhere in the pool of sunflower shells.

A good gig if you can get it.  Kinda like a 3rd string NFL QB.  Collect salary, hold the clip board, stay awake, endure boredom.... until those fleeting moments of sheer terror when you suddenly realize you may have go into the game. 😁

Actually, I'm sure Camargo woke up this morning hoping he would be in the lineup somewhere..

Apparently Correa is suffering plantar fascitis again. In the opposite foot. Get this guy some insoles..

Kinda like me and the little projects around the house.. I'm on the roster and I'm great at fixing stuff as long as I don't have to actually fix stuff.
