I know it's a grey zone since the pitches were thrown in a starting capacity, but given the intent of this chart it feels like Rojas' pitches on Monday need to be included to have a reasonable picture of who is available? -

I'm OK with him playing 11st base ... but it's kinda awkward to pronounce ...

Dang! He was having a great season. This sounds like it is a 6-8 week timeline for return, with additional time before the hitting power returns. This also then starts to impact trade value as the deadline is only 11 weeks away. All around crap deal for Jeffers, the Twins, & the fans.

Inside the Business of the Minnesota Twins
MN Brian replied to East Coast Twin's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
There was also an article in the Strib today regarding many of the same topics with the lead topic being the payroll at 24th in baseball this year: https://www.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-payroll-tom-pohlad-mlb-rank/601661789 I found this graphic in the story helpful in seeing the payroll numbers across the decades: -
Inside the Business of the Minnesota Twins
MN Brian replied to East Coast Twin's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I found this interesting and a very nice summary of the business side of the Twins, thanks for sharing @East Coast Twin! Good enough to invest 50 minutes to watch. I'm not sure there is anything new in here that hasn't been discussed thoroughly on Twins Daily, but pulls it all together and offers it with maybe a bit more business perspective and less animosity than you get here =) One thing that did seem missing in the piece was how much of the debt may have been tied to the original stadium deal. While the covid times and ongoing debt service payments certainly contributed to the rise in the overall debt, no way that can explain all of it. I think that a significant portion still is likely to have come from financing with minimal payments on the Twins contribution to the building of the stadium. -
@Cody Christie - Thanks for this detailed insight! I did not catch this covered in other sources. Kindness matters, sports is entertainment, sports should not be life, players are humans, humans have troubles, vulnerability is strength not weakness ... maybe a bunch of cliches, but also a bunch of truth. If that fan knew the backstory of what they were saying, and it seems likely they did, I am ashamed they are a sports fan in Minnesota.

I'm not a statistics major, but I have worked a bit with numbers. The median margin of error is really not very informative here, the confidence intervals tell a much better story. If you had 5 ABS measurements which, when compared to a perfect measurement system ("source of truth"), were off by 0.05", 0.08", 0.16", 0.5", & 0.75" your median (middle value) margin of error would be 0.16". It would also be 0.16" if you had 0.14", 0.15", 0.16", 0.17", & 0.18". It is challenging to make a prediction about the next ABS measurement with just this value. The confidence values tell you statistically how likely the next ABS measurement will be within a given error. So the system is 95% confident (19 times out of 20) that the next pitch will be measured within 0.39" of the "source of truth".

Twins (Abel) vs Red Sox (Gray): 4/14/26, 6:40 pm CDT
MN Brian replied to C-Gangster's topic in Archived Game Threads
What stand out to me in the lineup card is that all nine Twins have a home run whereas only 4 of the Red Sox do. Also much more balanced in the RBI's and the AVG & OPS. Emphasizing how broad the success has been with the hitters. Maybe a glimmer of hope for this being longer term success and not just a flash in the pan! I know, what am I thinking? It's not going to last =) -
Fair enough. My comment wasn't really that Clemens was included, but that if that type of player was included in the count for the Twins that it could easily be skewing the numbers being reported for other teams even more.

For sure there are challenges with any selected filter. It likely goes back to the original hypothesis from my perspective, which is that the Twins have more left-handed hitting corner outfielders than other organizations. So what defines a player as a corner outfielder? It doesn't feel right to say anyone who plays there. I think that a player who plays the majority of their time in the corner outfield position might be a better criteria but certainly there are other options. You raise a great point in regards to injured players that I had not considered. To be clear, I'm not saying that Cody did choose that filter to define a narrative. No way for me to know that answer. And the answer may be similar no matter what the selection criteria may be, I haven't invested the effort that Cody did to know. But my comment is reflective of my spidey sense tingling while reading his article =) (edited to reflect the response is to amjgt not Cody)
