Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Last game of the regular season … it’s been filled with highs and lows, but I’m glad it’s not over yet for the Twins. Win Twins! NotAboutWinning and RpR 2
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Kuechel to IL with "calf injury." Alcala activated. Celestino DFA'd to make 40 man room.

Those 80 pitches must have over exerted his calf. Good thing it didn't damage the beard. RpR, Dave Borton and USAFChief 3

ziggy Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Mrs Z and I will be attending the game in Denver. It is very windy today, warm and dry air. Take the over on 13 total runs scored! Hosken Bombo Disco and Dave Borton 2

stringer bell Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Toronto is not starting Gausman against Tampa. I suspect they don't see much advantage to finishing with a #5 seed and facing Tampa Bay for three more games after finishing the season against them.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I don't care if Ober gives up double digit runs or goes six no-hit innings. He's a starter in the second round. Dozier's Glorious Hair 1
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Houston up 2-0 after 2 batters. The 2 seed is within their reach with help from Seattle.
Schmoeman5 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Tim Wakefield lost his battle with brain cancer. Just 57. He did a lot of community work. I would've never guessed he was #3 all time in wins for the Red Sox. Behind only Clemens and Cy Young. RIP Mr Wakefield stringer bell, Craig Arko, BH67 and 5 others 8
stringer bell Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Jeffers took a foul ball in the upper leg. I wish they could have a third catcher for today. The Twins will lead MLB in strikeouts, both by their hitters and by their pitchers. They are 24 ahead of Toronto for pitcher strikeouts. Quite a turnaround for a staff that had for years been "pitch to contact". RpR, BH67, Parfigliano and 1 other 3 1
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 It wouldn't surprise me if Dick Bremer retires before next season starts. He's 67 and the Twins' broadcast rights are highly uncertain. I think he's done a good job over the years; he is skilled at finding the sweet spot between unabashed fan and professional broadcaster. RpR, stringer bell, CRF and 3 others 6
stringer bell Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I believe Suter is the only lefty reliever for the Rockies. The Twins can overload with their left handers now.
RpR Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 It would be sweet if Kepler could finish the season with a Batting Average .260 or higher. Small ball so far today; I wonder if this is Luplow's last chance to show if he stays during post season.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Rays up 4-0 on Blue Jays. I think it's going to be the Blue Jays vs. the Twins in Round 1. Dozier's Glorious Hair 1
Old Twins Hat Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 8-0 Rays. 4-0 Houston. Toronto in trouble on the mound. They will be throwing a lot of bullpen arms after maxing out the last couple games. Twins catching some early breaks? Dozier's Glorious Hair 1

They save the pitching staff and get their preferred matchup.
GusGus11 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Bring on the Blue Jays Only downsid eis they are the one opponent that set up their rotation But they are easily the most beatable

Unsung hero of Boston's epic 2004 ALCS come back, taking the innings in game 3 blow out to preserve the bullpen. Also if i recall his contract, it was an annually renewing 1 year mutual option., so he pitched for Boston as long as they both wanted to.. Somehow very elegant. Schmoeman5 1
