0.0000000000001% chance Joe Ryan gets the chance to finish this game.

If he gives up a hit, nope

Like the Twins roster is so healthy

Point taken, but it doesn't seem like most of the Twins' injuries will lead to anything like CTE in a couple of decades. (Fingers crossed for Mauer.)

And Morneau, and Koske

He has DeGrom-like numbers against KC and Detroit. #5 or worse stats against everyone else.

The Twins would be much more fun to watch if they played these AAA-quality teams regularly!

Like in N.y. other than Judge it was pretty much all 3aaa

Ya got a 1 in there that should be a 0.

Yeah, but the NY on the caps makes the Twins play like a AA team.

This AAA quality team beat the Dodgers with a shut-out, plus they beat Houston twice, including a shut-out.

This series is not over yet.

This is 2022. The Twins aren't going to the playoffs. Ryan is pitching a no-hitter into the 7th. In every year, except this one, he pitches until he gives up a hit, no questions asked. This year, he probably won't be allowed to finish it.

I suppose if the Twins start to run the table, they may still have a shot, but beating KC isn't the same as beating Cleveland, and they aren't playing good enough to beat Cleveland. Besides, Cleveland finishes the season with 6 against KC...so what chance do we really have anyway.

So give the fans something to take home. A chance to see a no-hitter...not some ream of analytics pages that says Ryan's arm will fall off if he throws 110 pitches or so. Granted he needs a quick 7th to have a shot at it, but the idea of removing him is so foreign to what MLB was all about for decades.

I  would pull Ryan ,  hes not gonna go 9 and you gotta think ahead to the weekend, , So im sure Rocco will let him throw 100+

Exactly.  I assume Ryan will be asked to pitch Sunday and Gray on Monday.

Honestly, I’m thankful none of us are. It’s much more fun to play armchair manager anyway

Yeah we’re all self proclaimed experts at that

I know that quoting myself is tacky, but this is the argument for relegation and promotion. Even if you didn't bring the minor leagues into the system, you could have three 10-team leagues: First, Second, and Third Divisions. Bottom two drop; top two promoted. Playoffs are for the top 5 teams in Division 1, top 2 in Division 2, and top 1 in Division 3. That way a team that improves super-fast still has some chance of winning the World Series, but most teams are matched up against teams of comparable ability most of the season. Plus, the bottom teams in Divisions 1 and 2 have a lot to play for at the end of the season.

End of crazy proposal that no one else will like.

Gerrit Cole, a much better pitcher than Joe Ryan, on a team headed to the playoffs, was allowed to throw 120 pitches last week against the twins. Ryan is at 100 right now. I will absolutely riot if Ryan isn’t given the chance to finish this

I’m sure your neighbors wouldn’t appreciate the bricks through their windows

At least it will be warranted…this time

Conversely, Verlander was pulled at somewhere in the 80 pitch range when he had 7 no-hit innings on us. I'd let Ryan go past 110.
