When Mark Contreras is 75 years old sitting on his Barca lounger he’ll say the first hit he ever had in the majors was off a guy throwing 105 MPH. Like any true fisherman.

I'm completely fine with position players pitching in blowouts like this, especially with a DH tomorrow, but I'm tired of seeing these dudes toss up 50 MPH. You don't have to throw full effort, but there is zero reason for these guys not to sit in the low 80s.

A lot of the excitement here is for the chosen few; actual performance numbers , no matter how meh, keep they above other with just as good or better numbers.

And that means what again?

Is Contreras proud of getting his first hit off a player who’s literally not trying on the mound?

Extra incentive to get another one.

Yeah that does seem to be a new thing. Guys just lobbing it in there. Like I said, someone is going to get hurt before it changes

I’m not. If I were at the Cleveland stadium I’d be walking to my car to beat traffic. It’s stupid.

Nick Gordon was throwing hard

I don't mind a hitter pitching every once in a while, but as Vanimal has pointed out in his article, it's happening too frequently and most times it's just uncompetitive. Though it's not a big enough problem to have any rules made about it, I'd guess.

Hard to get hurt when you’re instructed to throw 50 MPH floaters to the plate. 10 year olds throw that hard.

Lack of excitement for the unchosen.

I mean yeah, I wouldn't like it as a fan, but I completely understand why it's done.

Would be best if they could just forfeit and move on..... No one gets hurt.

I was curious how the club would respond to the Wes situation. I looks like the rotation wants Wes to go out with a bang.

I do too but sports is entertainment. Putting position players into pitch and instructing them to throw 60 MPH so they don’t blow out their arm is not fun. If that’s how they want to end it just forfeit.

I mean by a line drive.

Excellent start to the series, and only 5 runs allowed in 45 innings.  Still four games to go.  Optimistic.

Twins win!

A dominant outing from Gray, the backend of the lineup was fantastic, and Carlos Correa provided a late bomb. The most important thing is saving all of the real backend arms for the double header tomorrow where they will certainly be needed in one way or another. I trust everyone to hold down the fort in the afternoon.

Until tomorrow (night),

ENJOY YOUR CHICKEN!
