Danchat Verified Member Posted May 2, 2022 Author Posted May 2, 2022 Sands is going back to AAA for Moran, BTW. Wouldn't be surprised if he's only up for a few days.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Picture Gray has at least one more rehab start. =Hey, could Miranda be our first baeman of the future? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/05/twins-promote-jose-miranda.html

He is more valuable at 3B. If Kirilloff ends up at 1B, Miranda could play 1B in the future against tough lefties and Martin or Steer could cover 3B.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Arraez and Bundy to the COVID-19 IL. No replacements named yet.
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Who do we have to bring in that's on the 40 man? There's a couple of pitchers (Sands is really the only choice over Strotman and Vallimont), but i think Lewis is the only position player on the 40 man who isn't already on the big league roster. This could get ugly.
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 My bad - just saw that someone on the Covid IL doesn't count towards the 40 man. This woudl open spots for non 40 man guys like Smeltzer, Contreras and Terry.
lecroy24fan Verified Member Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 As of now neither has been placed on the COVID IL. It makes sense to wait until they're back home to make any moves since they'll be back late tonight.

Would assume this is the case...although if you have COVID, do you fly Charter with the team, or forced to stay in Baltimore? Anyways, worried about Correa and wrist, shoulder, fingers ball game today. We may see Lewis sooner than we ever expected!
ScottyB Verified Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 I’m assuming more roster moves today. Correa to IL, Arraez and Bundy to COVID-19 IL, Lewis now up, Kirilloff comes off IL, and I’m guessing Gray comes back early to take Bundy’s slot. Could be other moves as well. Sands since Gray and Archer aren’t going more than 4 innings until stretched out? Rotation will be Ryan, Paddack, Winder, Gray and Archer for now. Smeltzer could get the call soon.
Brandon Verified Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 With all this COVID and HBP injuries and knee surgeries and groin injuries and knumbscall injuries all within the last week or so, Does anyone know what the actual 26 man roster is at this time?

I'm thinking he'll take Arraez's spot as it sounds like Correa won't be going on the IL.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Kirilloff activated, Lewis promoted for the two on the COVID list. We’re down to 13 pitchers. Cole Sands promoted and Moran optioned.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 The revolving door will revolve and Moran will be back... such is the world with options. However I sure would of liked to see Moran throw some more innings with the Twins. Those 2.2 innings were impressive and worthy of more.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Gray activated, Sands optioned. Gray starts today against Oakland.
lecroy24fan Verified Member Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Larnach to the IL, Godoy recalled, as he is the only position player on the 40 man not already up.

How long ago was that added? Only asking because I remember someone last year asked about adding it back again. And thanks.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Correa and Paddack to the IL, Cotton and Contreras selected. Welcome to MLB Mark Contreras!

The official team website has 42 guys on the 40-man right now, so great question. The 5 easiest moves to make right now would be moving Sano and Paddack to the 60-Day IL, and outrighting Vallimont, Strotman, and/or Godoy.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 I imagine Contreras and Cotton are COVID substitutes for Arraez and Bundy and will be gone when they return, keeping in line that non-40-man guys can be added in such a situation.
