Pulls a guy (Gordon) that already hit a triple for Garlick, and then puts in Duffey when the guy can't throw his heat over 92, which is doom for Duffey.

I'm thinking the front office didn't put a whole lot of thought into the bullpen this year. Although, once again, they stocked the St. Paul Saints with a helluva a lot of arms that couldn't quite break the major league roster...yet.

Two pitches! Jeez. He threw yesterday, but that was 6 pitches after 3 days of rest. I get that it's consecutive days, but still, weird usage, unless he's pitching through some minor injury.

That was a real nice at bat. I had just said “I wouldn’t quite call it going the other way but…”

The Roy Smalley called it “going the other way” like 3 times in a row.

I mentioned before that Garlick is very good against LHP.

I should probably mention now he’s exceptionally bad against RHP.

Maybe Rocco thinks it’s 2020-2021 and the 7 inning DH is now in every game. Why you don’t make substitutions in the 5th inning

If our bench was 5-6 players deep, there’s room for a LHP hitting specialist. When we’re running 3-4 player benches, it’s not ideal.

The silver lining I will take from this game is Max Kepler hitting an opposite-field single off a left-handed pitcher. That authentically improved my mood.
