"Not sure what they target, but during this winter I encourage Tinney to find a 1B glove." Agreed

"I'm a Twins fan, I can comment, if I have to, I guess." Keep your stick on the ice

"I agree that it seems like Joe doesn't want to stay here. So, I recommend testing that theory. Throw out a long term contract to him, maybe $10/20/25 or something? If he bites, then great. Problem solved. If not, then you know, so then plan on trading him." If the FO/ownership has not already tested that theory, there is little hope for the Twins.

"It seems there is no gap in the front office’s mind." Right

"That’s called Brad Radke syndrome" And another: "If you don't get to Wynn early, you don't get to Early Wynn."

Pleased to see that Mercedes' primary defensive position is CF.

Just a gut feeling, but I think Jimenez will be a keeper.

4 hours ago, mikelink45 said: I see no alternative to the qualifying offer. There has been really poor planning - do you want Caratini and Jackson to be your duo? I don't. With the excitement about Lackey keeping Jeffers for one more year might be the bridge to having him step in, but if we are serious about next year Jeffers has to be in the lineup. The extension that could have been done in past years is not possible anymore - that is on the FO. MikeNC Yeah. Yeah. Those of us who said trade him at the deadline for a bundle to the drooling Yankees were labeled as "being negative"... No, being a realist is not being negative, it is being smart. I agree with Mike

"If you're his agent I have to tell you that he really, really isn't coming out of retirement." That's disappointing news. Actually, I should have referenced an earlier entry in which the author named 3 of the 4 Baltimore pitchers who won 20 games in the same season.

I have been an advocate for Hendry Mendez. However, his numbers in the second half of this season pale in comparison to the first half. I don't know if the injury he suffered is still affecting his play, but I want the old Hendry.

"Interestingly enough: president Millard Fillmore worked to make imported Peruvian guano cheaper and more accessible for American farmers and his efforts led eventually to the Guano Islands Act of 1856" If I remember correctly, the first shipment of guano was stored on the poop deck. The captain was not pleased.; . You, Bangkok Tw

"So do I, I used to work for them" I read that, when times get tough, they can employees.

"So Miz throws a pith at 99 mph. Is that his changeup???" That's his eephus pitch.

"Marek's hitting was great, but what really stood out was Houston's 12 SBs. Props to Duran's 17 SBs." I was more surprised by Sabato's 5 SBs

Just visited the Royals' version of Twins Daily. The responders seemed unhappy.

" The Yankees package is cool but I'm not trading any of our best players to a rival " I wonder if the Yankees realize this rivalry exists?

Mendez has been struggling for a while now.

Shelton (and his staff) has been a pleasant surprise to me.

"Not really. They could give extensions to Royce Lewis and Taj Bradley and front-load the money." I have read with interest as some other clubs (KC and CWS for example) have been signing young players to longer contracts prior to the necessity of doing so. I think (but cannot prove) that this would send a message to fans that ownership is prepared to take chances to improve the team. I would support the Twins extending a pitcher and non-pitcher (or more). Bradley sounds good. I would offer Mendez, but I must recuse myself as the founder of the "Why Don't They Play Him at First" foundation (501(c3) pending.)

Great plays by Martin and Rosario (2019). Also interesting that, in both cases, the pitcher was Taylor Rogers.

"Maybe Royce should burn his bats and start over with a complete new set of bats. Seriously. " That would be a shame. They look like they've never been used.

I think Clemens is doing OK for 2026. I remain hopeful that the Twins 2027 first baseman currently plays LF for Saint Paul.
