    I have been an advocate for Hendry Mendez. However, his numbers in the second half of this season pale in comparison to the first half. I don't know if the injury he suffered is still affecting his play, but I want the old Hendry.

I have read with interest as some other clubs (KC and CWS for example) have been signing young players to longer contracts prior to the necessity of doing so. I think (but cannot prove) that this would send a message to fans that ownership is prepared to take chances to improve the team. I would support the Twins extending a pitcher and non-pitcher (or more). Bradley sounds good. I would offer Mendez, but I must recuse myself as the founder of the "Why Don't They Play Him at First" foundation (501(c3) pending.)

    Great plays by Martin and Rosario (2019). Also interesting that, in both cases, the pitcher was Taylor Rogers.

    Though I have only "seen" Mendez via box scores or these great game re-caps, I am a Mendez fan. Good to see he played a little at first base. I hope he does more of that.

    I remain hopeful that the Twins actually will play Mendez at first base (in the minors) in 2026, rather than just saying it is an option.
