  1. What I liked about watching Winokur's three homeruns was that he was near second base when the ball landed.
  2. I'm sorry. I read the headline and presumed this was Stu's Friday article.
  3. Does anyone know how many games there have been this year with Correa, Buxton, and Lewis in the starting lineup as position players?
  4. My favorite non-Twin in the 1960s. Was at Met Stadium when he homered in the 1965 ASG.
  5. " I was really bummed when they traded him, but Don Mincher soon became one of my faves." The Twins traded Hall AND Mincher together to the Angels.
  6. Since no one has suggested this, I presume this is a bad idea. But, when I look at his height, weight, comparative lack of speed (though much better than mine), and strong throwing arm, I think of a catcher.
  7. Just relistened to Ray Scott's call of Harmon Killebrew's 9th inning game-winning homerun vs. the Yankees on July 11, 1965. It is a classic.
  8. "I don't completely disagree with your statement about not investing not being a great choice." This gives me something to think about while shoveling.
  9. I don't understand these "Table Setter" daily updates. Seems like a constant reminder that the Twins role at the table is leftovers only, and not until everyone else has signed and/or traded for the players they want.. Apparently the Twins are crumulent
  10. Surprised the Twins didn't top that.
  11. I wondered what happened to that llama farm south of Worthington.
  12. jkcarew 5,786 The ‘67 team probably should be in the top 10…even if it would knock out one of the division-winning clubs. No divisions in 1967. 2nd place in the American League. And actually won the season series against Boston 11-7. But, 2 of those 7 losses were the difference in the season-ending series at Fenway. 4 Hall-of Famers…5 guys in the top 20 for MVP. Cesar Tovar credited with appearing in 163 games…at least 6 games played at 6 different positions. Oh…and the first year I attended a Twins game. (Not that that factors into my ranking whatsoever 😉) I seem to recall Killebrew saying that he thought the 1967 team was the best he played on.
  13. Doc: "I am NOT saying anyone on the Twins will be as good as him, but, there are some guys like Lewis and Kirilloff that have a chance to be regular, heart of the order type of hitters with 22-35HR power to go along with solid AVG and OB ability. (Wallner to a degree as well maybe??) And they are all younger and more cost controlled." and Julien
  14. $5M left over for a reliever or gross and old veteran utility player. Darn - wish I were a veteran utility player
  15. Using your criteria, Carlton and Tiant should be considered for SP
