    I have written this before, but it was several years ago. In 1968, I ushered a few games at the Met. On one occasion, during warm-ups, shortstop Jackie Hernandez was making very erratic throws to Reese at first base. Eventually, one of the coaches noticed, "asked" Hernandez what he was doing, and Hernandez said that Reese wanted him to make bad throws. The coach ended this training exercise.

    If I recall correctly, a big if, Rooker was drafted while Terry Ryan was GM, Sometimes, a new leader will think more highly of his/her picks than those of his/her predecessor.

    Since no one has suggested this, I presume this is a bad idea. But, when I look at his height, weight, comparative lack of speed (though much better than mine), and strong throwing arm, I think of a catcher.

    Just relistened to Ray Scott's call of Harmon Killebrew's 9th inning game-winning homerun vs. the Yankees on July 11, 1965. It is a classic.

    I don't understand these "Table Setter" daily updates. Seems like a constant reminder that the Twins role at the table is leftovers only, and not until everyone else has signed and/or traded for the players they want.. Apparently the Twins are crumulent

    jkcarew 5,786 The ‘67 team probably should be in the top 10…even if it would knock out one of the division-winning clubs. No divisions in 1967. 2nd place in the American League. And actually won the season series against Boston 11-7. But, 2 of those 7 losses were the difference in the season-ending series at Fenway. 4 Hall-of Famers…5 guys in the top 20 for MVP. Cesar Tovar credited with appearing in 163 games…at least 6 games played at 6 different positions. Oh…and the first year I attended a Twins game. (Not that that factors into my ranking whatsoever 😉) I seem to recall Killebrew saying that he thought the 1967 team was the best he played on.
