I think Buxton should include a pint of Elmer's Glue to his daily diet.  Maybe that will keep him together.

So Buxton was running less than 100% (good, he won’t blow out a hammy), he slides feet-first into second (also good, he won’t break a finger) and he still gets hurt. It looked like it was his ankle, let’s hope for a sprain but given his reaction I’m not optimistic.

So this is good - you’ve ruled out broken finger and pulled hammy.

Have day off.  Was looking forward to watching this game all day and then Buxton got hurt.  Total buzzkill.  He wasn't limping bad so maybe it is not a break?

On replay, it looks like he had a really awkward slide, where his left ankle (IIRC) got bent a little bit underneath him--a result of needing to speed up and slide in order to avoid getting thrown out at second due to not running it out (he looked to be jogging for most of his time on the basepaths).  I'm not super concerned about him taking himself out immediately, as I definitely don't want to play games with Buxton's health--if something hurts, get him out of there ASAP.  I have to assume even if Buxton wanted to stay in, Rocco would have yanked him anyways, so maybe Buxton just knew what was coming.
