I’m starting to wonder if he’ll ever be a good #2, which is really unfortunate. He has spent close to half a decade teetering between his potential and third starter. All in all, not a bad player to have but less than we expected.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Stashak, Thielbar and the rest will probably all get some work tonight. Berrios is not likely to go more than five innings.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Hopefully when Berrios pitches against Baltimore in the play-offs he will be sharper.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 So the whole “sell anyone of value” thing only works if people have value.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Awful start by Berrios. And I have to come to his defense here. He's the best Twins pitcher since Johan, right? Unless you want to count individual seasons, then we can talk about Phil Hughes and stuff. Losing breeds losing, and there's lots of it been going around this clubhouse. Hey, I'd be more than happy to see him pitching better, just like you, or trade his ass and let him pitch for another team, where he's given a chance to perform and maybe actually win something.

denarded Verified Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 GleemanGeek summed Berrios up perfectly on Sunday. Berrios is no better now than when he was 23 and he's about to hit 30. As fans, we have expectations, but sometimes you have to give up the ghost
mnfireman Verified Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Reading through the comments, I see this episode is just as interesting as the previous ones

But the general sentiment of that feels accurate.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Who needs Byron Buxton when you can pick up Refsnyder off the streets?

Orioles are getting some really sharp hits off him. Not good when Shoemaker did a better job yesterday.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Where would this team be without Refsnyder and Garlick*? *never thought I’d say that

Oh, well in that case you'll need to sit up straight in order to adhere to fire code, not for better viewing.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I was just going to comment that Refsnyder is certainly making the most of his opportunity here
