It isn't the pitcher doing well to strike him out....and it isn't him doing well to walk? Seems a bit one sided .....

 

It is. I'm just saying the elevated walk rate isn't coming for free. Sano has always had a pretty good eye, but he still struggles with recognizing or making contact on pitches down in the zone or below the zone and that's where pitchers are focusing. It leads to a lot of swings and misses but also a lot of walks if he can lay off. Until he is able to punish those pitches there won't be many balls in play and Sano's value will be severely capped.
