Game Thread "Get Away" Twins vs Rangers 12:10pm cdt 5/6/2021 ad

Recommended Posts

Down 2-1 in the series, a win would earn us a split.

And a theme that should be obvious for every get away game i could introduce: what can we get away with?

And today i feel like trackin' down youtube references of musical nature to favorite, but lesser known movies:

Six String Samurai: (and the band responsible for its soundtrack, the Red Elvises)

El Mariachi:

The Man in the White Suit:

(you may doubt its musicality, but you'd be surprised how often you hear it sampled in other movies... most notably Bunsen and Honeydew's appearance in the Muppet Movie)

and you can go watch any of 'em if your stomach isn't equal to the sight of Nick Gordan's major league debut!!! Or Michael Pineda's purpetual stretching and pacing on the mound. Or Astudillo's hat catching as he fields them pop ups.

So the fact you're here now, means you are truly dedicated as a fan!

And i'm proud to share a game thread with you! (well, assuming i don't duck out to mow the lawn at some point.)

Twins are at a weird spot at the catcher position. Two choices for C2. One, Jeffers, is completely redundant, exact same strengths and weaknesses as Garver and bats from the same side. The other, Rortvedt, is an ideal C2, but probably not quite ready for major league pitching. Both should be getting regular at-bats somewhere. Feel like a Tomas Telis sighting is on the horizon.
