The offense was good enough, Maeda was really good once again, and the bullpen did it's job while being fairly warn out. Big to get this win with Bieber going tomorrow.

One of those decisions for the Twins was to rest Maeda an extra day after an excellent showing. Could he have another great game? I would hope so, at least against the Indians. I expect a low scoring game. 2-1 Twins with a key Sano double? That would be good enough for me!

They'l leave Cleveland in first place, or at least tied. Two games to play to win a game and win their fourth consecutive series. It hasn't always been pretty (tonight wasn't) but they are doing enough to win.

You know why I feel better about this team’s chance to advance compared to last year? Pitching and defense. It’s still the foundation to win in the playoffs. Last year was a blast but winning HR derbys isn’t sustainable against the best teams.

They do have the best run differential in the AL at 41, so they haven't all been that close. 

 

Only the Dodgers have a better one, alough their's is on a whole different level at +79!
