I woke with a start and realized I had a game thread due today.

Fortunately, the door to my office was closed so I had some privacy as I consulted my zzzz's, I mean, muse.

I wonder if I can claim workers comp because I slammed my knee into my desk when I awakened?

This season started out so well and the game second game in Puerto Rico was a regular season game for the ages.

Since then, our home town nine has fallen into the doldrums. But, never fear, we're going to be cheerful in the face of adversity because we're baseball fans.

Why?

Because no one knows how to blamecast quite like baseball fans. We're very adroit when it comes to blamecasting. Disclaimer: Don't try this at home because we're what you call "experts."

With that out of the way, some things to think about:

forrent

(for a small fee!)

Pitching: Jose Berrios ®

1. Joe Mauer (L) 1B
2. Brian Dozier ® 2B

4. Eddie Rosario (L) LF
5. Eduardo Escobar (S) 3B
6. Logan Morrison (L) DH
7. Ehire Adrianza (S) SS
8. Jason Castro (L) C
9. Ryan LaMarre ® CF

White Sox

Pitching: Carson Fulmer

1. Yoan Moncada (S) 2B
2. Yolmer Sanchez (S) 3B
3. Jose Abreu ® 1B
4. Nicky Delmonico (L) LF
5. Matt Davidson ® DH
6. Daniel Palka (L) RF
7. Leury Garcia (S) CF
8. Tim Anderson ® SS
9. Omar Narvaez (L) C

Just kidding about the things to think about.

Some things to think about:

1: Is light beer really beer?
2: What is the point of decaffeinated coffee?
3: Parkay: Is it butter or not? (it's freaking margarine and it tastes like margarine, yeesh!)
4: Ketchup on hot dogs? Yes? No? Sacrilege?
5: Space X is awesome!

Is light beer really beer? Yes, but bad.

2: What is the point of decaffeinated coffee? Poison. It's actually not healthy.

3: Parkay: Is it butter or not? (it's freaking margarine and it tastes like margarine, yeesh!) No. And not butter is really bad for you.

4: Ketchup on hot dogs? Yes? No? Sacrilege? As much stuff on a hotdog as possible.

5: Space X is awesome! Duh.

1. No but it's sometimes a nice beverage when you don't want water or something sugary or very much alcohol

2. Kind of like #1, sometimes it's a nice beverage when you don't want water or caffeine, but only if you're super addicted to coffee to the point where you actually kind of like the taste.  (raises hand)

3. No, no, 1000 times no

4. Yes!  I will put whatever condiment I want on whatever food I want, thank you very much.

5. SpaceX is awesome, seriously awesome.

1: It serves  a purpose - like if you want to have 12 beers in a sitting.   I haven't had light beer in about 10 years and don't miss it
2: No point - similar to non-alcoholic beer
3: Give me the real thing - butter
4: I will have ketchup on a store-bought dog on sometimes I prefer mustard  - never on a ballpark dog
5: I'll go along with everyone else on SpaceX

Back to baseball - I begin every game with optimism and have ended most of them depressed.  Pitching and defense guys pitching and defense.  At least Grossman is not in the field today...and neither is Petit - he can't be making an error a game even if his hitting has been a bonus.

You must have a trough for a bladder to drink 12 light beers in ONE sitting! If that were me I'm shuttling back and forth to the bathroom more often than Chief at night...

Re: Light Beer.

When I hear that, I think Coors Light, Miller Lite, Bud Light, etc.

Micro breweries are popping up every direction you look. There's a brewery in freaking Fountain, MN. Population 413! Why not try something local over light beers? It could be bad! Or maybe it's the best beer you've ever had!

I've watched the Spacex Falcon Heavy launch a hundred times just to listen to all those young Spacex nerds cheer their heads off.

Worthy of the triumphs of the 1960s.

First Saturn V launch as reported by Walker Cronkite:

1. Alternate theory--what if what we call light beer is actually beer, and what we call beer is actually heavy beer?

2. For people who need to get to sleep, but still want the taste of dirty runoff water

3. Seems like you answered your own question

4. So long as you wash it out of their coats once it's cooled them down, sure

5. I'm waiting for Space L--it should be 5 times more awesome.

So Molitor took Dozier out of the #1 spot in the lineup, as some here hoped he would... but he only dropped him to #2. Well, maybe it'll be better that way, but Dozier's been in a pretty big slump so I'm not sure it's going to help.

I'd like him hitting 4th right now....

Matt Harvey was DFA'd this afternoon.   Any takers?

I was thinking more along the lines of "yo, FO, we need the spot on the 40 man. We have someone who needs the same treatment."

1. It's for people who don't like or appreciate beer.

2. Beats me, even though I drink it occasionally because caffeine and I don't get along.

3. Wouldn't know. Butter only for me.

4. It's for people who don't like or appreciate hot dogs.

5. Of course.

Q: Is light beer really beer?

A: Honestly... I can never tell the difference. I have switched to Craft Beers now because I can tell the difference.

Q:  What is the point of decaffeinated coffee?

A: Some people want to be able to efficiently burn their tongue and not have it keep them awake at night.

Q:  Parkay: Is it butter or not? (it's freaking margarine and it tastes like margarine, yeesh!)

A:  Butter and Ice Cream are two things that I thank cows for. I accept no substitute.

Q:  Ketchup on hot dogs? Yes? No? Sacrilege?

A: Every single time for me unless I'm going Chicago Style... then I'm just fine without it.

Q: Space X is awesome!

A: Your Game Thread is awesome Blake.

I suspect it's because he wanted to bat LaMarre last and that would be two righthanders back to back.

I believe batting LaMarre last trumped Dozier batting leadoff. Molitor just showed us a ranking of his priorities.

I’ll have to check the files, but I’m not sure our team has ever had a 2 out RBI in history

Not me... We have enough depth at the SP position.

Now... If the Mets cut Mike Piazza. I'm all over that.
