To the LA Dodgers. Not real surprising? He was DFA'd a few days ago and didn't really fit into the bullpen or rotation at all. What a few days for him however. Good luck in Los Angeles, jason.

Reportedly traded for Cash.

Kevin Cash!?!!

Trade of the century!

oh just cash?

Meh, at least we have one less 9.00 ERA guy in the pen. Good luck to Wheeler moving fwd, but honestly thrilled to know he wont block anyone.

I wonder if it was Pool Cash or just Straight cash homie cash...

Would prefer [international] pool cash, but I appreciate the reference.

What value does Wheeler have to the Dodgers?  Is there depth so limited that even without Stewart, and now Wood, that Wheeler will help in some way? Whatever the case, there's a working relationship there, evidently, post Dozier non-trade.

Nothing mysterious here. Dodgers are simply having a look at a big, healthy arm to see if they can get some value out of him. We saw Wheeler's modest stuff in his debut. Maybe they think their pitching coaches can show him something different than he was getting from Twins coaches. It may be unlikely, but every now and then it happens.

I hope he gets a real chance here.  I am fine with moving him I really did not like the way the Twins handled his last week.  Good luck to him.

Twins got cash for Wheeler.  They'll need it when they trade for Sam Dyson in a few days.

I watched Dyson a bit in the early part of the year because I had him on my fantasy team (I know, I know, nobody cares about other peoples' fantasy teams).  He kind of reminded me of Kevin Jepsen's last run with the Twins.  Just a disaster.  Whatever could go wrong, would go wrong.

Dyson's been demoted from closer, to setup man, to long man, and now off the MLB team in Texas.  I think the Twins don't have much to lose, and I'd be for a trade.  But don't give up too much for this guy.

Cash. Good. We needed that.

That was a considerable bump up from the original Dodgers offer of a Groupon for Sizzler.

There's a reason he was demoted and released.

Probably Texas wants more than cash for Dyson.  They reportedly have some offers.  Maybe Twins could fix him worth the risk is really cheap.

We should probably get used to this. There are going to be a few folks going through that bullpen and some of them are going to wind up on other teams. I will say that the fact that the Twins traded Wheeler suggest the Dodgers actually claimed him. No one claimed Tonkin.

Left handed and breathing.

Good luck to him and the Dodgers. And no, it isn't international pool money. That can't be traded yet, so as to keep costs down across MLB.

Mike, I thought a team could trade away as much of its international pool money as it wants, but is restricted from acquiring more than 75% of its own pool value.

Correct, except it can't be traded until after July 2. It would be, future considerations now, not announced. The rule is there, most think, to keep a team from knowing ahead of time that it can go big on one or two players.

Dyson is much more broken that Pressly:

7.7 K%, 13.2 BB%, 2.54 WHIP, 9.04 FIP, 10.80 ERA.

Those are some Hoeyish numbers down there...
