Why the Eff are they pulling him? What a load of $#it. If this team ever wants to be a contender it is going to be because the young guys succeed. What better time to give them a chance to work towards success than when you start the year 8-18? I'm so sick of this ****. I have ****ing had it. I'll start watching games again once they've given up on this godforsaken season and start playing the young guys. No more ****ign Tommy Milone. Jesus.

I think if Meyer is one of the young guys we're counting on to succeed, we're in trouble at this point.  Anything we can salvage from him at this point would be a bit of a bonus.

He hit 98 once, and 97 twice.

 

He game up three hits and three walks. He definitely had some bad misses, but pulling him in the third inning after he'd gotten two outs with a man in third is just...pathetic.

I didn't think Meyer had any pitch limitation, any other pitcher would've been left in at that point.  He's barely pitched in what 10 days?  But bring in Milone to let him pitch for 5 innings giving up meatballs.

Why, he had one bad year, that was actually not quite as bad if you account for BABIP. He's the only pitcher in the system with Ace potential and his stuff is amazing when its on (see that 2nd inning). He's been pitching great this year. He obviously lost his cool after giving up that quasi HR, but he's not going to improve his mental game if you don't make him work through it. To pull him after 2.2 innings is absurd and ridiculous, and makes me doubt Molitor as a coach, who I've always defended before. What does this teach Meyer? If you make a mistake, the coach will pull you, so you can't make a mistake. That's a recipe for nerves, anxiety, and self-doubt. Say what you will about Gardy's strategic acumen, but at least he understood how player development works, and that it isn't through tearing down your players' confidence.
